There was some discussion in Sochi's thread, and there were two points of view, essentially, mostly centering around the freedom or flexibility of what happens inside the house. I am in the camp that the architect is setting up an inflexible set of parameters when it comes to the structure itself.

I am going to post some pictures. If you look at these houses, love them or hate them, how could you alter them or add or subtract details in any way that would make them look different than how they look? I don't think you can.

I know the Esherick house has been for sale for a long time. It's small, and one of the issues is that (besides being on the Register) it really can't be altered in any way from what it is.

Note, though, that modern architecture doesn't mean all modern furniture to the occupants
