Has anyone used Tureks Alterra Stone Collection

Hi-

Just wondering if anyone has used or herad of this company, Tureks Alterra Stone. I am starting to look at backsplshes and while I am going for a somewhat plain stone (subway travertine or can be porcelain with a travertine feel) this is what I came home from the tile store with.

If not, please tell me the brands of this type of stone you have used as my tile store didn't have much in this department which I found to be a little odd since it seems so many are interested in this stone!

We used Turek Honed Seashell tiles for the field tiles in our backsplash. We liked the contrast between the smooth shiney granite and the flat finish/rough texture of the tiles. You can actually see tiny seashells in the tiles. Some pictures are in the link below:

Thanks Meg- I am actually in MA also, Canton and I looked at a Tile store in Dedham-

I Love your kitchen- IT is beautiful!! I am looking for a slight contrast as my perimeter countertops are absolute black, but my island granite is very busy with a lot of movement (typhoon bordeaux) so I wanted something less busy- Is your backsplash travertine?

I think it is perfect for what I am looking for, but just want to check all my bases!!

Went to the Cambria dealer who has 12x12 samples of the Waterstone collection. My future cabinets are stained a sort of milk chocolate and the sink is slate-colored (Kindred). So I thought Torquay or Waverton was the solution. When I held the cabinet door and a representative slate color against the Bellingham sample, I was blown away. Perfect match, lots of movement, loved it. But I'm still torn with going conservative (Torquay) or taking the risk and hoping I won't regret getting Bellingham.

@Sheila Rush have you picked flooring, counter tops, cabinets, backsplash yet? Those fixed elements should really help decide your wall color. Also how light or dark you want your walls, Natural Choice is the lightest with an LRV of 73, Natural Linen has an LRV of 66 and Accessible Beige is the darkest with an LRV of 58. All three of your choices are part of the yellow hue family, but AB and NL are closer to the red side of the color wheel (warmer) and NC is closer to the green side of the color wheel (cooler). Jules, there are quite a few threads here on solid surface, just do a search in the box of the bathrooms forum for Solid Surface and choose "in bathrooms." Look for some of the threads with more entries, even if they are old. We have been posting on a couple of threads about solid surfaces and what they are and aren't for years. It is a lot easier to direct people there than to go through the discussion all over again. "Kohler Choreograph?" is the title of one, and another says something about Solid Surface versus Onyx Collection versus some other ones.

My daughter used the IKEA Bodarp green kitchen units for her new open plan kitchen extension and sourced some wooden terrazzo worktops, ply handles and oak slats panels to go round the peninsular. Looked amazing when completed. Here are some photos taken during the completion of it.

Elissa,

Our backsplash tiles are limestone, similar to travertine but not exactly the same. We brought home many boards with tiles to test next to the granite and cabinets, and this was the one we liked the best!
