Have had a 27" 500 series Bosch wall oven for almost three years and have been pleased in all respects. Quiet fan and large oven capacity for the size. The oven light goes off each time the door is closed so it has to be turned back on if you want it to stay on during baking. That is a pain, but not a major issue. I do have to rotate items once for even baking. If you want items to brown, convection must be used. For convection, Bosch says to reduce temp by 25 degrees and that has worked for me. Overall, the oven has the feel of a quality product. Although not metal, knobs still look like new. I think they'll hold up nicely long term. I don't tempt fate by using the self-clean feature. The interior walls seem to clean easily so I'm OK with that. I had planned to special order an easy glide rack, but the standard racks are hefty and glide nicely so have decided to stay with standard. You might search online to see if you can still special order. Compare prices through different vendors. Of course this review does not speak to possible issues with current models. I've known a few people who have had durability problems with KA ovens and would not go with them again. I feel your pain going through that headache of appliance shopping. Good luck.

After talking with friends who have KitchenAid Convection ovens it sounded like I had a problem so reported a repair. The convection motor was replaced under warranty & seems to work fine. The technician showed me the "clicking" described in the disclaimer -- it is a very slight "click" sound when the element switches from an upper element to lower, etc. (doesn't apply to convection only). The oven is nice & quiet. I'm happy [for now ;-)].

I've had the new Jenn-Air combo oven for a couple of months now and have been very happy with it. I got the 30" SS microwave oven (without convection)/convection oven combination. The one you are referring to is an upgraded model and has a larger LCD control panel so I think the user menus are a bit different. I agree the specs on the JA are better than the KA and were worth the extra money for me. (I really only had a choice between the KA and JA combo due to space constraints) My one complaint about the unit is that once the microwave has finished cooking the fan stays on until you open the door. I see no useful reason for this and forces me to get over to the microwave sooner because I can't stand the fan noise. This probably wouldn't bother most people though.

Regarding the Bosch maximum temperature, the way they present the specs are misleading. You need to check the owner's manual for the correct info. Max temp on a Bosch is 550F. Max temp using Sabbath Mode on a Bosch is what's limited to 450F (the Sabbath Mode limit is what's mentioned in the quick info sheet, which is why it's confusing). Note Thermador's new line of ovens (same parent company as Bosch) is limited to 525F on any bake modes. 550F is only available for broil and rotisserie. The Thermador ovens that are being replaced went to 550F. I don't know why they changed, other than perhaps the new swipe control "can't handle the heat".
