Help!! What do you think of this room? Is my sofa too big?
Comments (5)Yes, it is too big for the space. However, you have it styled nicely. Can it be returned? If you can swap out the chase section for a single RAF seat, it may help. I would angle your two chairs so they face each other just slightly. If you keep the sectional chaise, i would buy one of those "C" type tables that tuck under the sofa. Put the chairs under the window. But then your chaise section is right under your TV, which is not optimal....See MoreI think I hung my chandelier too high but I already cut the wire!
Comments (6)I do agree that it looks a bit high, and usually start around the 30" mark when possible. It depends on the chandelier itself, and you never want to hang too low if it's a wide piece for fear of bumping heads! I don't have advice on how to rewire/add length other than consult an electrician, but if you add taller chairs and a tall centerpiece, that could help with the disconnect. Try a cluster of tall/varied height candlesticks or vases in the same color/finish, and maybe add a runner to complete the look. Good luck!...See MoreI think my rug is too big....help
Comments (18)Heather- In your second photo it is not next to the door, and the fireplace is not a problem. So you just have to decide whether you would rather have it in the living room or the bedroom. I would not get a sectional. They do not solve any problems, they just make make more, as they are oversized pieces of furniture themselves, and your room is not that large. You could keep your eyes peeled for two comfy chairs to face the sofa that are on casters or to which you could add casters, so that if you and your guests are watching a movie, they could just re-position their chairs so they can also enjoy the show. You also need and end table for in between the two chairs, and at the sides of the sofa. And after you get the chairs, hit the tag sales for some great large trays or TV tables for your popcorn and wings!...See MoreI think I messed a little too much with my Pachira, zone 10a, SoCal
Comments (3)Overwatering isn't about giving your plant too much water, but rather having a soil mix that holds on to too much water. Money trees love water, but they also love fast-draining aerated soil. Your plant isn't getting enough water. The botanical name for these plants is Pachira aquatica. They've given it this name for a good reason, they grow near bodies of water. In other words, your plant is dying of thirst. Being in such a dry gritty mix, you're going to have to water it much more often than usual just to keep it hydrated. Mine grows outside for most of the year and I have to water it on an almost daily basis; and I don't even use a gritty mix, and it's in a self-watering pot....See Moremitchdesj
