They are ALL lovely. If it were me, which slab(s) I chose would depend upon the templating. Some of the options have more movement across the entire piece than others for example. Since you know exactly what segments you need, would it help to bring a template of each and lay them out on the slab(s)?

Thanks for the quick reply. For bathroom, we need two 60"x20" sink vanity tops and one 42"x20" seating area vanity. The island will be 72"x48". I like option 7 movement the most except the entire bottom 25% is heavily veined.

I like option 7 too. We had our bathroom marble cut recently and I wish we did the template. I would have put the sink a little more centered between the veins. I still like it a lot though. They will install our backsplash next week!

I love all of course but prefer the more consistent movement for all the pieces you want cut in options 3 and 6. The other slabs (and Ilove the darker veining of 4) seems as if they would leave some mostly white patches for some of your pieces.

I like option 1. I do think however, that any one of them would be beautiful. Dont worry- it will all work out.

Don't know how it would "lay-out" (with cuts and all), but option 4 really caught my eye. That one (in and of itself) is my fave!

I agree with cat_mom. The drama & contrast of option 4 is what I think of as classic calacatta. I am also partial to option 7 as well. I think you need to decide the "look" you are going for. More white and uniform, small "pattern" or large dramatic pattern, gray and white, more movement or serene. I agree it is all beautiful. Which one makes you smile the widest when you turn the corner? Imagine them on as a surface versus staring at them like a wall hanging (which is always weird at a stone place.) That might give you insight as to what you will really enjoy looking in your home. Of course you are overwhelmed-10 choices is too many! Can you do a bit of a gut check: what do you envision in your space? (I like what sparklekitty wrote above.)

RE: color...

1) Can you post the tiles you are hoping to match? If they are white/off white, which slabs are closest to your particular white?

2) On my monitor--It looks like there are 2 slabs out of the 10 that have more warmth/taupe/gold tones to them (option 7 & 10--maybe they're even labeled different Calacatta d'oro or Calacatta Gold?) I'm wondering if you can eliminate them if you prefer more crisp gray/black and white of the other 8 slabs? (Those 2 taupe toned slabs are actually my favorite, but are they yours?) I'm thinking 2 of these things are not like the other...

RE: how to choose what piece for where

Can your fabricator meet you at the stoneyard to help show you how they could layout pieces on the slabs you like? There are only certain ways they'll be able to cut the stone to get you all the pieces you need. (This was very helpful to me.)

Right now you are looking at slabs, which have little to do with the final look you'll have from the smaller pieces you will see in your home.

I'd prioritize which portion of which slab you like for your island (or your bath, if that is more important to you.) But just think about that one thing first. Then, do you like the pieces that remain for your other counters?

I took some blue painters tape to the stoneyard to make my own (very primitive) "templates" on the slab it was easier to stand back and "see" my counters that way.

Miscellaneous:

Large areas of pure white with no veins will show etches the worst. Veining helps disguise etches. I would try to put the most veining on your kitchen island which would see the heaviest use.

When I was shopping for our marble, I could find slabs with the tones I wanted OR the vein pattern/movement, but not both. Is one more important to you?

Definitely do not look at any more slabs - there is such a thing as too many choices which is what you're already dealing with. When i can't decide what I like the most, I start by deciding what I like the least. You really need pare down and eliminate first. I agree with others, they are all lovely - and once you make a decision and they're installed, you won't even remember what the others look like.

gableandchairs - I really like your sink placement. It looks more "natural" to me than if you had it placed between the two veined areas.

gableandchairs, i also agree with drdannie. It's sometimes better not to be so matchy matchy. Thanks for all the advice and yes, we will whittle down our choices. I think we are debating between dark pronounced thinner veining or muted (lighter) thick veining. We definitely prefer not too much spiderwebing in between major line movements. I think that's why we are gravitating to 4 or 7 now. We are about to select our tiles this week and will likely match the taupe-ness for the slabs once we break open the tile crates.

I totally agree with remodelfla. 6 and 3 have great movement and flow to them. I do like option 7 but it really depends onn the template, you could feel a little "unbalanced" with it.

I like a lot of these, but #4 grabbed me instantly.

gable - I think they did a great asymmetrical pattern on your vanity. I love how it is natural and organic. You don't want organized marble!

How lucky you are to have so many choice slabs to choose from!! Can I ask where these slabs are?

My favorite is slab #4 - the contrast of the dark veins is wonderful.

I don't like #1 or #7 - neither would be particularly interesting when templated into 2' widths. Love #4. Beautiful.
