Delta Victorian or Rohl/Perrin & Rowe faucet?
Comments (21)Dawn, I am a righty. I don't think it would matter with a rectanglesink, you could place them whereever you wanted. We had to place the faucet, control and side spray to the right since there was more room between the sink and the backsplash also tried to minimise that the sink was not centered exactly on the center of the window. So get a piece of plywood - trace your sink profile and cut holes for the faucet etc in it for placement and put it where your sink will be-and set the pieces in it to see if you like it- thats what we did. I love having one control lever instead of two knobs. Also I like not having to twist a faucet handle- now I have arthritis in both thumbs and this is way easier. Something we didn't count on just a year ago! Thanks for the compliment on the kitchen, I am very proud of DH, he did it all with the exception of installing the granite. we bought the cabs. Divamum- my backsplash is painted beadboard and behind the range is tin ceiling tile painted (leftover from a dear friends ceiling!) Comments (6)Can you use a chrome faucet with satin brass cabinet pulls? Yes : ) . But then I have brushed nickel faucets with polished brass Armac Martin cup pulls and towel bars. And dark bronze that reads black on milk glass pendants. I don't get agitated about matching finishes, preferring a collected-over-time look, but the brushed nickel certainly ties in with the stainless appliances. My cabinets are Ikea Edserum. I fell in love with the same pulls about 20 years ago and had them in our previous kitchen too, with a chrome faucet, and it all looked great. The cabinets there are cream painted wood....See MoreIs this Rohl faucet unlacquered brass or their Tuscan Brass finish?
Comments (13)Hey All, Rohl distributor here. That is definitely the Tuscan Brass finish that does live/change over time. You can speed up the process when you buy a new one by touching it alot or wiping it down with soap and water often to quicken the pace. Rohl was purchased by Fortune Brands, which has changed some of their distribution over the last couple years, but the items are still made in Italy. In our market, about half of the issues are installer related because they are not the Delta quick connect installations. To acheive this look would be hard in any mainstream brand. Waterstone is fantastic! I have been their facilty in CA. They also have a Tuscan finish that changes, but again, it would still be different. In my experience there are certainly issues with higher brands, but they always take care of you. It's just not at an Amazon pace. Unlacqered Brass is going to be bright and shiny, and will also turn, but I don't think they would ever look the same (TCB that had changed and ULB that had changed). I would stick to TCB finish and maybe even purchase "Brass Ager" on Amazon and test on the underside of a flange or something. Or buy a soap dispenser to test it out on that wouldn't be costly to replace. Enjoy!...See MorePlease help with cabinet hardware finishes
Comments (23)I went down quite a rabbit hole searching for appliance and cabinet pulls. (Ask me about my spreadsheet with columns of info on about 20 styles, LOL.) Sadly I found no armadillo pulls :) In case it helps, folks here posted helpful responses on my recent post. A couple of things I learned that helped me narrow down choices: I only wanted solid brass construction (not zinc), and verified that my top two choices are back or through-bolt installation, not surface-mounted. (Pictures in the Julie Blass blog show a pull that has screws that look surface mounted; I would worry about using those on a refrigerator.) Best of luck on your search... I feel your pain!...See Moremichellemarie
