Help! Are frameless cabs always MDF?

I am about to lose my mind! I thought I had my cabinet company choice narrowed down but am now confused. Here is the situation. I am looking for whole house cabs for a new build. I know I want frameless and I think I want all plywood boxes. (Don't I?) I have two estimates - one from a local higher end company for 55K, and one from Dura Supreme (pretty good quality I think) for 44K. I kind of need to scale back costs - but when I investigated, it looks like the frameless Dura are MDF. Our other options around here are Bertch (no frameless), Merillat, Embasy, Medallion, Mid Continent, Aristocraf and Woodland. I don't think any of these make frameless (I'm in a smaller area in the midwest and most people are not into frameless). Also, we have a Lowe's, but I haven't even been there. Kraftmaid has frameless now I think. Please help me think through this. Is the plywood crucial? Anybody used any of these companies? I feel like I'm back at square one. Thanks so much for ANY help. I am about to take up heavy drinking and we haven't even started.
