backsplash tile help

User

Sorry that I am being kind of dense. I know this has been discussed and I have read a lot of the threads, but I need some

"splaining"... presently at the backsplash stage. I think I like the tumbled marble (the one that feels chalky and has pinholes kind of in it?)..I thought I remembered reading someone saying it was not a good choice for a backsplash in a kitchen. Am I hallucinating? Paranoid?

I have natural light oak cabinets and sapphire blue granite. whitish tile floor.... orb hardware.... I think the light simple tumbled marble is calling to me.

Or would a nice simple whitish plain tile with some raised relief be happier to live with?
