Hydronic Radiant Heat Under Wood Flooring?

This is cross-posted in the Heating and Air Conditioning Forum. I thought someone might have wood flooring in their kitchen with hydronic radiant heat.

We are remodeling our kitchen and family room, which will become one large room. We currently have oil/hot water baseboard heat and would like to change to hydronic radiant heat at least in these two rooms. The kitchen floor will be tile, but the family room will have hardwood flooring. I know hydronic radiant heat is supposed to work well under tile, but does it work as well under wood flooring? We will be installing a new wood floor (probably 3/4") over existing wood flooring (also 3/4"), so it will have to heat through two wood floors plus an old-style slatted 3/4" subfloor. (Radiant heat will be installed from underneath in unfinished basement.) I also heard that wood flooring can buckle and warp with hydronic radiant heat. Is this true? Could it split, crack or dry out from it? Thanks in advance.
