I love your bathroom, esp the basket weave tile and the marble vanity top. It looks like our MBR are about the same size. We just finished doing some work in our bathroom. We got a new porcelain tile floor, ceramic shelves in our shower, wood linen closet in our dressing area, toilet, etc. Our sliding shower door is 23 yrs old and I am thinking about installing a new hinged frameless door in its place. Our opening is 45" wide. Since it has been over one yr since you installed yrs, what do you think about it now? Has it ever leaked? How much $ did it cost? I was quoted $1200.00 for a Basco Door. That seems very expensive to me. Please forgive me for asking about the cost. I'm trying to find out what is reasonable. I live outside of Cinti OH. I want a big door, and the guy at Lowes said that it would have to be custom ordered. He said that the biggest that I could get was 33. How big is your door?Would you install a frameless hinged door again if you could do it all over again? Sorry for the barrage of questions. Thanks so much for your help. FYI for everyone who is considering a bathroom remodel: get the best tile guy you can. Pay extra for him. We uncovered damage and he knew exactly what to do to fix things correctly. pbear - Do you have pictures of your counter top? I was so unsure of going with the lighter granite, but thought that everyone, my sister, sister-in-law and friends all have the darker granite. We wanted to be different and thought to go light, so my DH chose the bianco romano. I loved it! I bought the samples of backsplash from glasstilestore.com. They come in 6x6 sample sizes, which is nice so you can get a better idea. I think I bought 10 samples, because I'm so unsure of what style I'm trying to go for, definitely modern. Theresse - are you talking about the plain white subway tile pictured with the red glass and granite. I love that as well... love it more because its .29 cents a tile!!! but thought maybe it was too plain, which is why I started looking at other choices, but everyone is telling me to go simple with the plain subway tile. I wanted some color and considered the red mosaic as a border somewhere in the middle, or thinking of just going over the range similar to this posting... oh and check out the border right above the granite. If you look at the old kitchen and see where my fridge is there aren't any cabinets.... if you look at the new design I added a wall of cabinets surrounding the fridge. I'm so excited to have so many cabinets and the new countertop that extends into the sunroom. I've got a couple of suggestions. One is to intersperse the Lowes subways with a narrow band of tiles, either small mosaic or a 1 x 6 strip. The 1 x 2's are usually considered mosaics, so they tend to be pricier than the standard white 3 x 6 subways. By going with a narrow strip in the field, you can spread out your cost. I hope I'm making sense. I noticed my Lowes and Home Depot are carrying more mosaic options in the store. I don't know if they're doing this nationwide yet. I'm in TX. Floor and Decor also have options that seem reasonably priced. If you happen to have one near you, check them out. Here's a link for some mosaics you can check out along w/pricing. Adex has gorgeous ones in plain, beveled, and crackle and they are even mounted on mesh for easy installation. Two white shades and many colors. Not too expensive, and good quality. Do a search with the word "mesh" and you will see them. Here is a link that might be useful: Adex Tile
