Comments (4)Hi Gobruno, I don't have any pictures but here are some great links that talk about Farmhouse Apron Sinks and knowledge is power. I hope this helps. ~boxer Does this look weird? new shaw's sink :( from Ebse of GardenWeb http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg0617142330159.html Sink Base bumpout http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg081554181574.html?15 Gardenweb apron front sink http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg0622435222664.html DIY network on installing an apron front sink http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/installing-an-apron-front-sink/index.html Here is a link that might be useful: Has anyone undermounted a Shaw apron front sink?...See MoreDoes anyone regret their Shaw's/farmhouse sink?
Comments (98)I too am very disappointed, having the same issues with my Shaw; chips, hairline type cracks under(crazing) and doesnt drain properly. One section of the sink creates a little pool that keeps the water from draining, although the sink is level. We have a metal grid, but chips were developing even with that. I rarely use it now because it is too difficult to get the water and debris from under it. Bar keepers Friend is helpful. I occasionally make a little paste and let it sit a few minutes before wiping-I find the powder and liquid to be great. Also Mr. Clean Magic eraser is very helpful especially on the grey surface cracks and around drain. Love the look, but this has been frustrating. I've had it since around 2009 I got no help from the manufacturer....See MoreDoes the 36' Shaws look too big? Any pics?
Comments (27)mtnrdredux - thanks, I like the larger sink as well! I think I'm pulling the trigger on it this week! re: trash -We have the trash in this spot that will hold 2 cans (i think), and then on the other side of the kitchen in the island are doing a larger trash can that will also hold trash and a recycle bin. I actually think I'll use that one more bc it's next to the fridge and breakfast/lunch making spot. But we'll see! I don't know that I'm a fan of having the 2 trash spots, but I think it will be convenient since the kitchen is fairly large. Plus, I have 2 boys to take the trash out...so they each get their own trashcan to be responsible for...lol!!!! The cabinet to the right of the dw is actually going to be a different style/color (like an old french gray or something) then the rest of the cabs. This is going to be the dish cabinet - plates in the drawers and glasses above. And, hopefully look like a separate piece of antique furniture compared to everything else when it's all done. Looking forward to seeing your pics as well :) laranbrian - that looks great!!!!...See Morecabinets are being installed - does this look weird to you?
Comments (38)Sounds like you will have the sink cabinet replaced, right, that's great - you will be happier in the long run! Just want to ask - what is the Brand name (and the color of white) of these beautiful cabinets? Looks like a style that will fit very nicely in our new Old House! May I also ask, what have you selected for your Counter Top, Floor, Back Splash, Sink, Frig. and Range? And what is the size of your Kitchen and the Island? I also used glass doors over the sink in my last house - really makes the space open up - used the antique glass, looked lovely. Wish we were almost finished - Thank you so much for sharing, roseofblue...See Moreboxerpups
