Bathroom Tile - Wall/floor same, or diff shade?
Comments (6)Yes please post pictures. We are doing ours, white subway tile (running bond) on the shower/tub with a wains cotting of same all around the room. We will do a herringbone pattern through the middle of the three shower walls for accent. That is a lot of WHITE. The question becomes what to do for flooring? Tile is too cold for a bathroom IMHO, so we have eliminated that. Not to mention I do not understand the attachment to super hard surfaces in flooring, too dangerous, hard on feet and backs. We are eliminating the 1970's green & tub/toilet. I want to stay away from being stuck with a permanent color scheme!! Future color flexibility is a must in my mind to keep a room from getting dated....See MoreSame tiles in bathroom and kitchen?
Comments (4)I don't like using the same tile in both spaces, but that's just me. In my honest opinion I sometimes think that it looks like you just wanted somewhere to use your left over tile. There is so much beautiful tile out there I would want to do something different, but again that's just me....See MoreSame tiles bathroom walls, laundry and kitchen splashback? too much??
Comments (9)I do like to have a separation in looks between a kitchen and bathroom. When we made our powder room, which is very much next to the kitchen, it was important to feel like there was a psychological separation between the two spaces. Also nice for guests to feel that separation too when they go to the John! I would think about a variation on the theme for the kitchen. Are there similar tiles but different size shape and lighter grout?...See MoreShould I get bathroom cabinets painted same color as kitchen?
Comments (3)My opinion is that cabinets don't need to match throughout a home, although they should be similar in style (e.g., sleek contemporary vs. MCM vs. craftsman vs. traditional raised-panel). The color schemes from room to room should also be complementary. In my previous house, every room was a different color but cabinet styles were similar; in my current house, wall color is the same everywhere while accessories and cabinetry are different finishes (but same styles)....See Morecalimama
