What can you tell me about Blanco Silgranit Sinks (pics please)?
Comments (152)I commented on this thread a while back when I was trying to decide between the silgranite white or a darker color. I really wanted white because I thought it'd be prettier but I was afraid of the potential staining problems. Well I went for it and got the silgranite super single sink in white from home depot online. Even though the pictures don't show it, I bought the matching grate as well. I think the grate is a good investment as it protects both the sink and your dishes if you happen to drop them. It's been about 7 months now and I'm still so happy with my choice. I haven't had any problems with staining. I am careful with it as I would be with any item that cost me $300+ but I don't feel it's extreme. I always rinse out the sink after I use it and do at least a weekly clean with a liquid soft scrub unless I've done a lot of cooking. I have a bunch of microfiber cloths I got from Amazon that I use to wipe off any water spray on the counters' edge by the sink. I am meticulous about this because I have very hard water. Overall I love this sink. It's functional and beautiful....See MoreBlanco Silgranit Sink
Comments (63)I have been using Hope's Perfect Sink for the past few years and it is the easiest way I have found to keep my Blanco sink looking nice. (My sink is now about 16 yrs old!) This product cleans and leaves a protective coating on the sink at the same time. I get it at Amazon, but there are probably other places to get it....See MoreBlanco Silgranit Prep Sink?
Comments (11)Cj, I had the exact same problem last summer. The Silgranit prep sinks come in the oddest sizes!! I have a formica perimeter countertop and chose to do the Silgranit anthracite super single for my clean-up sink (which I LOVE, BTW.) In my island, which is approximately 3'x6', I have a butcher block top. Since the butcher block was mostly DIY, doing an undermount would've been a huge pain. I knew I didn't want stainless steel, and the silgranit sizes weren't what I was looking for. So I decided to go with a top-mounted copper sink, which I absolutely love! My copper sink, at 16"x14", is slightly smaller than what you want, but it works great for me. I've never had an undermount sink, so sweeping the crumbs into my hand or into the pull-out garbage in the island doesn't bother me. I bought my sink through The Copper Depot, which I found on ebay. Their price was good, customer service was great, and their shipping packaging would've withstood a tornado. I have a Delta faucet in ORB for my copper sink. My silgranit sink has the same Delta faucet in brushed chrome. I thought the two faucet finishes would bug me, but I really don't notice it at all. Here is an older picture of my kitchen to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Anyway, I just wanted to chime in with another option for you. The copper is very easy to maintain and looks great, IMO. Good luck with your decision!...See MoreBlanco Silgranit Sink - Cleaning Question
Comments (11)hi cactus.. CLR stands for Calcium Lime and Rust. You should be able to find it at your grocery store, most likely by the bathroom cleaners. As far as the oil product...that is only a kind of cover-up for the white haze that I had at the bottom of my sink. First I had to use the CLR to remove the white, then the mineral oil just as an extra step to pretty up the sink. Let me know if CLR works for you...I'll be checking back! KA:)...See Morelindawink
