Comments (22)Just did a comparison between Akemi Nano Effect and Miracle Porous Plus on Absolute black flamed granite tile: Both sealers are excellent against water (it beads up). Two coats of Akemi and even a single coat protect against water, espresso, wine, and olive oil (right). Porous Plus (right) darkens the stone a bit more (this is 24 hours after application), and resists all but the oil well. The negative control of untreated is down the center. Conditions left to right: 0.5 mL of distilled deionzed water, hot espresso, red wine, and olive oil. Top 1/4 (two coats of sealant applied 4 hours apart), top middle quarter (single coat), bottom half (two coats, applied immediately after one another with 5 minutes to soak, then wipe). Have some Tenax Proseal coming tomorrow to compare to Akemi, the clear winner here....See MoreGranite for Vanities - Yes, I know I'm in the Kitchen Forum!
Comments (7)We are doing a reno on our Master bath. Our vanity there is 72 inches and it is hard to find a granite top that size. I have been to every granite yard around here and found my dream top Super White or white fantasy. Then I fell in love with 2 other pieces big enough for my other 2 bathrooms. One 48 inches and one 36 inches. They are Bianco Antica and Minsk green. That looks like BA only with a grey green tone. So sounds like we have the same taste. I wanted to fo with different granites.I want each bathroom to be unique. Most of the remnants I saw were the everyday ones you see all the time. There were never any of the exotics, so I was so excited when I came across there....See MoreGranite is in - seam and sealer questions
Comments (17)There are three things that have gone my way in this remodel. The electrician/hvac man listened to me, the granite looks wonderful, and the kitchen cabinet people did everything beautifully. Raee, I am with you, there are people that absolutely don't listen because they think they know how to do it because they are in the business. I have spent mega bucks on this remodel and if I don't like it then they should say, "how high do you want me to jump?" instead of arguing with me. Kudos to Konkus marble and Granite for stepping up to the plate and offering me a whole slab of marble when they cut the one on hold in the bone yard for someone else. Excellent installation of granite, too. Thanks to Miller Custom Cabinets for listening and understanding what I wanted for cabinetry. And my wonderful electrician, Dave, his son, and his grandson, who practically rebuilt the entire electrical and heating/air-conditioning systems. Thanks will come for others when the kinks are worked out satisfactorily. Karen...See MoreCloud Swift
