What is the best granite sealer and cleaner

Comments (5)I've been selling or fabricating stone for 12 years. We torture tested dozens of brands of sealer side by side. There's only one that has exceeded all our expectations, and that's the lifetime sealer from Surface Treatment Technologies. My own mother purchased a stone that's known for staining if it's not cleaned up every night. Prior to STT we would recommend 6 coats of sealer on this nightmare product (and know that wasn't even enough). The STT sealing system involves two types of product (one sinks in deep, and the other only for top 2 millimeters). Mom's c-top has been in for over a year, and is behaving just like the torture tested samples from years ago. GREAT PRODUCT ! Comments (8)The particular granite you have is oriented granite that tends to be quite porous. These type of granites will need anywhere from 2-4 coats of Bulletproof sealer. The Bulletproof is the best sealer that we have and that is out on the market. The sealer is designed to buy you time to wipe a stain up however things such as coffee, strawberry and tomatoes do have acid and if not wipe up quickly can leave a stain as it eats through the sealer. If your granite is darkening with water rather quickly then there is not enough sealer or the sealer was not applied properly. I would recommend to clean well KlenzAll to remove as much of the staining as possible. Use the Oil Stain Remover to remove the deep set oil stain. Once all clean reseal with Bulletproof following the directions for application. Comments (4)Are you sure your granite even needs to be sealed? Many granites do not need sealer at all. A lot of fabricators seal the granite immediately after they install it, just as a matter of course and the "finale" to the installation, but the granite may not need it. What granite do you have? There is an easy way to see if your granite needs to be sealed or not. Drip some water on the counter. Let it sit for 15 minutes. If the water absorbs into the stone, the stone needs to be sealed. If the water is sitting on top after 15 minutes, then wipe it, and see if there is any water stain showing (it will go away in a few minutes). If there is, then some water has absorbed into the stone, and the stone needs to be sealed. If the water did not absorb and did not leave a water stain, the stone does not need to be sealed....See MoreUser
