Cup pulls with regular pulls? Pics appreciated

Hi! My kitchen facelift has been 95% complete for months, yet I'm still struggling with the hardware and pendants. I have chosen the hardware finish - pewter/weathered nickel. I kept my existing cabinets which have the traditional 3" spread handles. So I've got to have those covered. I love cup pulls for the drawers, but cannot do knobs on the uppers. Can I mix regular pulls with the cups? How will it look? If you've done this I would appreciate pictures! Thanks! Kay

I have cup pulls on my bakers table and will be using regular pulls on the balance of my cabinets

I used matching cup pulls on drawers and bar pulls on doors.

Please note that the bar pulls were also available in a longer length. I chose these because they were easy to grasp.

Oh I like the long ones shown in Segbrown's kitchen. Sabjimata, if the ones you are looking at from RH are like those, I think they would work nicely for one pull on the large drawers. However, I would go with something different (like a knob) on the small drawers or the two different bin pulls might get a little busy. Just my opinion. :) We actually have two bin pulls on our large drawers, but the glides are so nice that I could see how they would easily open with just one in the middle. Good luck!

(That last photo above also shows a cup pull on a frame, on what I guess is the dishwasher.) Make sure to stand there and pretend to open the drawer, and see how comfortable the height is. This one was on a slab front, so it didn't matter but this one was on a framed front, and it would have been too low to reach had we put it into the middle. So we put the pulls on the frame. (Different handles, too, on these, so hard to compare. But it illustrates the point of making sure it's a comfortable height and you don't have to bend down to open the trash.)

We mixed them, but used a latch on the lower cabinet next to the cup pulls. On the opposite side of the room, all of the drawers and cabinets use bar pulls. I honestly can't remember why we decided that anymore--since you'll notice the upper cabinets over the cup pulls have bar pulls. I think I ordered latches for the uppers and my husband changed his mind at the last minute? (We always planned all bar pulls for the gray cabinets, though.) Maybe other people think it clashes (I won't take it personally!), but it doesn't bother me at all. We did choose pretty traditional-looking pulls, though--not sure how well this would work with the more modern style.

Hello, I have chosen cup pulls for the drawers and small knobs (25mm) for the cabinets. But I am not sure what to do for the panneled dishwasher and the panneled fridge.. My questions are: *Is the cup handle comfortable enough to open the dishwasher? *Would it be ok to use a bigger knob for the fridge (38mm) and the pantry next to it? .And what about using handles for these two ? Note : My kitchen is small to American standards , 3 drawers, cabinet under sink, dishwasher , single cabintet, in one wall then one cabinet, oven and mico with cabinet, fridge and pantry. The an island with 2 sets of 3 drawers and bin cabinet Thanks a lot!!! P

Of course you can mix them--cup pulls would be SILLY on uppers, right? Knobs on top and cup pulls on the bottom are standard when you're doing cup pulls. (I have to say Honorbilt's variation on the standard is QUITE nice, though!)

Yes, you can mix em. You can do anything YOU like. When it comes to pulls/knobs, they are the jewelry of the kitchen and the owner can decide what s/he likes.

And I just want to say, cup pulls on uppers are NOT silly. I've seen them. A friend of mine bought a house where they used cup pulls on the uppers (and lowers). On the uppers they are turned sideways and look really cute. Something different.

Which just goes to show you, anything goes. If you like the look of it, then that's what's right!

Honorbiltkit, thanks for the pictures. Your's looks lovely! I hadn't even considered the cup pulls on the tops I just meant that I couldn't do knobs as I have two holes already drilled in the upper cabinets for the existing hardware.

I think that regular pulls look pretty good on doors along with cup pulls on drawers.
