I would not take up wood floors if had them. Strip and restain them lighter or seal them. There are a ton of light blue grays. Both BM and SW have color visualizer programs. You can upload a pic and "paint" or use one of their rooms. You can do either glass or ceramic for B/S. What's your preference?

i agree with you on the floors, but i have a problem with mine. we had the layers of old vinyl and glued down tar paper from like 69yrs ago removed right before xmas. unfortunatly only 1/2 of kitchen was oak. other 1/2 is pine. guy doing the floors suggested a dark stain to blend the 2 woods. it was beautiful until like the next day. we have 4 kids and a yellow lab. their dirt and hair are drawn to the floor in here. hahahaha our bathrooms have tile but everywhere else was oak. we had it re-finished w/ only poly....no stain. i don't mind wood floors, but the ones in the kitchen did not turn out well at all. the pine is too soft and has dents and has cracks between the planks that i can't keep clean. the oak side is fine though. i just can't take these dark floors anymore! i have to have something that looks clean and that i can get clean. the pine isn't working for me.
i don't have a preference for the backsplash. don't want anything busy though. i want a clean, calm, inviting look.

I think that you need to pick something that will give the people here a starting off point.
Pick a specific floor and then ideas for paint colours and post them and have people give ideas on your choices.

Have you x-posted on the decorating forum? There might be some help there as well.

For me your question is too broad.

How about finding an interior decorator and have them come in for a couple of hours with suggestions.

take your pictures to a BM dealer and see what they suggest. But take a sample of flooring ideas with you.

I took a picture of the outside of our house to them for paint suggestions and they came up with a really good idea. It's been the same colour for 10 years and I still love it.

That's great you posted an inspiration photo of a floor you like. It reminded me of Durastone which I have never had but you could look into it, look at a sample, and ask people here if they like it.
I suggest you find more inspiration photos so you can see gray and white cabs with carrera type counters and what color or tone of floor they have. An inspiration photo helped me SO much and I copied the cabs color, counter and floor and backsplash since I liked it. Saved me A LOT of research and hunting plus you can go in a tile store etc. with the photo in your hand and it helps the salespeople get started.
In the website Houzz.com I tried the search words 'driftwood gray and white kitchen' and there are interesting results. Play with different searches and you can save the pix you like. In one pretty gray kitchen (below) in the comments the paint color for the gray cabs is mentioned: Silver Lake 1598 by Benjamin Moore.
