First stuff leaching out will go down. Very little will reach out. Yes roots will hit it. If you are really worried slide some metal down - get white metal coil (used when siding to cover posts, facia etc.). Cheap and slide it down. Now roots must go down to get "under" timbers and for sure all chemicals coming off will not go near 99% of roots. Also in a couple years 75% of chemicals or more will likely be gone. I worry a lot but I think you are ok. I used regular wood - untreated. I bought sealer that was nontoxic. Its not working. Been 3 or 4 years and it is not going to be long before some boards break. I now slope soil down at wood to allow less dirt to touch the boards to let them dry in hopes to make them last longer. PT wood would have been thousands (I made BIG beds)

Bitterwort, I work for a greenhouse dealer that sells BC Greenhouse models, and I can assure you that this is a top of the line greenhouse. In my years in the business, we have carried a multitude of different greenhouse brands and BC Greenhouses is without a doubt, a top-level company in terms of both quality and customer service. We have customers calling after 15 years saying that everything is as good as new except for the occasional broken pane of glass from nearby lawnmowers. We put one up for display last week and it took two of us about 6 hours, although one of our builders can go set up an 8x8 and be done within 4 hours. The design of the frame is perfect and well thought out so everything goes together snug enough so no outside air gets in, but not so snug that it's difficult trying to get the parts to go together. The Sun Garden model is a customer favorite, although I don't like it much simply because it's an extremely difficult greenhouse to crate with the curved side wall/roof bars. It does seem more sturdy than the straight eave counterparts though. I'd rather not say which company it is that I work for because I know this site isn't for advertising, but you should know that these greenhouses are the best you can get and I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed. Before we retired, my DH and I had a business making hand forged iron cabinet hardware. I can't tell you how often we had customers come back to us, years later, needing just a few more pulls or knobs, from the kitchen they'd finished years earlier. Often, it involved changes to an adjacent room. They added new cabinets to a laundry room, and needed to match the hardware. They added a bathroom vanity to a nearby powder room, or storage in a mud room. Even since we've retired, we still get emails from folks who just need "a few more" of this or that pull. I always feel bad when I can't help them. I think it's a great idea to set aside a few spares, since hardware is always changing, and it's hard to be absolutely sure you won't need them down the road. If you don't ever use them, you can just pass them on to a future owner of your house, too. I always so appreciate past owners who have passed on spare tiles, careful paint records, and things of that nature.

It was hard to leave my beautiful kitchen but the new location and house is much better - will be worth the hassle of the 2.0. Thanks for the kind words about Babushka Cat. He was a love.....His sister (from the same litter but so far her heart checks out OK) is doing great, in fact she does not appear to miss her brother at all! Pic below of her demonstrating she matches an off the shelf pillow exactly. I did donate the stove - it needed a major renovation but hopefully it went to a good home. I took the bistro set with me, hope to find a place for it in my new home. I did not have to remove the flue in kitchen but decided to, to improve the layout of cabinetry. Thanks again!
