Picture of the inspiration with 3 colors for cabs

Here is the inspiration with the 3 shades together. possibly white dove, cumulous cloud, and wood to warm it up. Please disregard the dark wood- I won't have that, Just the lighter wood, white and grey.

Beautiful inspiration photo! Your kitchen ideas sound lovely.
And your slab is gorgeous.

When I was kitchen designing 18 months ago I spent a lot of time thinking about grays to pain my island (before deciding on a one-tone white kitchen).
At that time, everyone was buzzing about BM Fieldstone Gray from the famous Sally Wheat Cote de Texas kitchen.
I'm sure you have seen it.
You'll find several posts on GW about Fieldstone Gray,
including posts by Teresse on her choices in her vintage gray kitchen.

Your inspiration picture reminds me (a bit -- perhaps because of the pendants) of the 2009 Princess Margaret show home featured in Canadian House and Home. Athough the Princess Margaret kitchen is more modern/contemporary than your inspiration photo, perhaps looking at the sources may give you some color ideas for your dreamy and subdued "Belgium" palette:

Francoise, thanks so much for that, yes originally i thought a darker grey such as the rockport grey that the designer picked was needed for contrast, but really I want a subdude(dont think i spelt that right, haha) sweedish, soft french look, so I think the cumulous cloud might work, or nimbus(newsouthernbelle just posted pics of it, very nice) I appreciate any input you have, your kitche is beautiful and you alsways have very helpfull posts! @kks: The tiles I used were the rootbeer ones that were talked about on a thread from quite a while ago. Someone had purchased them from Moniqua(?) and decided not to use them, so I was able to get them. They were exactly what I wanted. I read that some people have added black, but the size was 2" and it was harder to fit into the spaces. I did use the enhancing sealer on the tiles and grout. I think the grout color was custom blend unsanded in bone. It still looks awesome! I wish I was so inspired for our bathroom remodel. I did find a nice accent tile, but it is taking much longer to make decisions about things because I really didn't have the inspiration like I did for the kitchen!

I think the blue trim on these would have to be the blue from the warm filagree border, which is a lighter blue than we are doing in the kitchen and the gathering room (to get the kitchen & gathering room color, we took a sample of blue bahia granite to sherwin williams and had them do an exact color match so that one is set-in-stone as far as the color.) When you walk into the foyer of the house, the tile mural will be right there. To your left is an arched opening and you will see both the bookcase side (curved display side) and the window seat right there so they need to go w/ the tile mural. Yes, we are doing the same wood floors throughout, both upstairs and downstairs (only place it isn't is the bathrooms). Random width downstairs, 3 inch boards up. Staircase in the foyer (which you'll also see from the door along w/ the tile mural and the conservatory) are white w/ oak. Trim will be white throughout, including on the window sills. We've got a LOT of blue in this house! (Kitchen, gathering room, sunroom, bedroom, master bath all have blue features). Soft yellows, greens and blues sounds very cheerful and inviting for your home!

Julie the pass through was there when we bought the house. We have company all the time so we do use it. I like it because I can see/talk to people in the other room and it doesn't make the kitchen so closed off. My husband's fave part is the tv which he recessed into the wall. It pulls out and swivels both ways. I swear - the men, they love a good gadget. Believe it or not, I get more compliments on the new blinds which are plastic! I gave them a lot of thought because I wanted an option that let the most light and air from outside without allowing neighbors to see me inside. I found them on the Bali website - they have them in all different patterns. At night they GLOW beautifully from outside and people ask me about them all the time. And they were CHEAP! I think around $150 from Home Depot for my bay window. Thanks again for the kind words. Tammy

I've got foam boards painted a dozen different BM yellows, trying to find the right one for my kitchen and another for a powder room. I tested Pale Moon, Rich Cream, Windham Cream, Concord Ivory, Filtered Sunlight, morning Sunlight, Cream Yellow, Squish-Squash, Buttered Popcorn, Crown Hill Yellow, Marblehead Gold, Oklahoma Wheat, Wheatfield and Semolina and I'd swear several others which were immediately rejected and painted over so I don't remember them! Bottom line, as CP says...yellows are nearly impossible, it depends a HUGE amount on the lighting and because monitors vary, I don't think you can get much of an accurate guess on what that color is. On my monitor the OP's picture looks a lot like Wheatfield...a sort of apricoty yellow. If in fact it is more green, the two I found that were quite nice and a bit more green while still close to neutral yellow were BUttered popcorn and Squish-Squash. But my suggestion is to take a picture of the kitchen you like to the BM dealer and find others that are similar, keeping in mind that the color you are SEEING is what you like, not necessarily what the kitchen REALLY is. And remember...the same yellow can look totally washed out and nearly white in the brightest part of your room and brash yellow submarine yellow in another part of the room. And a lot of them go dingy in the shade. Good luck! And btw...my final choice were Rich Cream on the walls of the kitchen, Cream Yellow on the cabinets and Crown Hill Yellow in the powder room. Walls are painted so far, cabinets are not....we'll see when it's all done if I made the right choices!

Michelle - I'm becoming a connoisseur of web misspellings and typos. Subdude is my current favorite, much better than hand instead of hang and things like that. It makes so much sense! An inferior dude or maybe an effeminate dude. I like it!

P.S. subdued, but that's not nearly as interesting.
