A small blower (as you probably know) runs during the dry period to pull room air through the DD and exhaust the residual heat/moisture. The vent is at front/center beneath the DD. Depending on where/how your storage drawer is positioned in relation to your DD's exhaust, you're probably having some warm/humid air seep into the drawer. Leaving the storage drawer ajar as you've been doing allows it to dissipate better. Doubtful there's anything wrong with your DD. Probably the only workaround is to cancel the DD cycle when the drying phase starts and pull it fully open for flash-drying instead of the normal airflow drying. Note that if you do that, the DD's pump will likely run in drain mode for a minute or so when the DD is next closed.

Would it make a difference if the boxes are nailed, not dove-tailed? Because they are not dove-tailed. My gut tells me it should be fine--I never would have thought "no, we shouldn't do that, it will warp". But what do I know, I'm not a cabinet expert. But, this guy is starting to freak me out. this morning, he said again "these are going to warp". He also told me a spliced drawer front would solve the problem. I really hate that he is making me question this, because after all, I am not the expert, and frankly, neither is the KD (or GC for that matter). I just can't figure out why the cabinet guy is saying this and everyone else (including me) thinks it will be fine. Thanks for letting me vent!

I'm rewriting this entire post because my link did not work. I replaced my Blum drawer runners with Heavy duty runners on my 36" drawers because my soft close stopped working & the drawer felt unstable (too much weight) when it was open. It took the installer about 10 min per drawer to make the switch. My HD runners are the 568H (110 lb dynamic weight/125lb static weight). The 568H is being phased out by Blum & is replaced by the 569H. The 569H supports even more weight -135lbs dynamic/150 lbs static. This post was edited by romy718 on Thu, Jul 24, 14 at 23:17

Slightly tilted by propping up the right side corner as you show in the picture, with the unit partially pulled out of the cavity? Could be it's off-level or off-square when in place. The drawer-closed sensor is an optical gizmo at the upper right corner of the tub (behind the front panel) with a matching piece in the frame of the machine's outer cabinet. The drawer is not registered to be closed if the two channels of the optical sensor don't align.
