Hey, what's going on here?
Comments (51)Thanks for caring, my friends. I have Grave's disease which is an overactive Thyroid, and I got all the goodies that go with it, like bulging eyes, shaking hands, swollen feet, etc., and a nodule on the thyroid gland which they are testing to see if it is cancer- or hopefully not and they can just cut it out. The 2-day test starting today was just a low dose, but they may hit me with a higher dose of radioactive iodine to destroy the thyroid. I just go from one day to the other now, but I kicked my daughter and grandkids out of the house, so as not to expose them, and to be on the safe side. If you know me, (which you don't), you also know that I tackle everything with a positive attitude. I have had worse things than this happen to me in my life, and I will conquer this one, too. I love you for asking what happened. Not too many people care any more. And rest assured, I care about you and what is happening in your lives. You have all become my friends, and I treasure your friendship over the GW. Let's all stay in touch Hugs Ingrid...See MoreMy Pickling Cucumbers are starting to come in.
Comments (8)Well I have 25 pounds of Kosher Dills doing their thing in 2 different stone crocks slowly fermenting away. I am fixing to start making cucumber relish some sweet and some spicy. ajsmama thanx for the link, looks like it will be an interesting read. Dave I saw most of those recipes and they weren't what I was looking for. I never even heard of the NCHFP. But than I am new to gardening and even newer to canning so that shouldn't be much of a surprise. I thank you for that link and I have bookmarked it for future use. akRoach I have also bookmarked your link for future use also thank you for it. Carol your link has also been saved so that I can explore it later on. I want to thank all of you for your replies and links, I am slowly learning there is much MUCH more for me to learn and I appreciate any and all help that is passed on to me on that road. As I tell people all the time "I know just enough to be dangerous to myself"....See MoreLook at my plans. What's good? Not so good? Where to go from here?
Comments (41)RappArchitecture - Thanks for commenting. I've made some changes to the layout since the original post. You can see the latest floor plan in my comment posted yesterday. I think the changes I've made address most of your comments. Take a look at the revised floor plan and let me know what you think. I'm still struggling with the kitchen layout and where the appliances should go. Other commenters have made similar suggestions to yours about the master suite but there's a few things keeping me from making changes to that space. One being that my wife especially loves taking baths and I located the bath tub to have a great view of the mountains to the east (foot end of the tub). The window along the north side of the tub offers views into the forest and is a very private part of our property so we won't need to draw the window shade. I aligned the door between the bath area and bed area to be centered with the bed and that window will be a focal point from the bed. We will get some light from that direction too. The space at the foot of the bed is reserved for an area that my wife can use when doing yoga and the big window looks towards our mountain view. Maybe we could have a small window up high next to the bed on the south wall for a little extra light that wouldn't intrude on privacy? Maybe we should also sound proof the wall at the head of the bed since it will share a wall with the kitchen? We will have the TV upstairs in the bonus room....See MoreWhat's going on here
Comments (16)Celeste , not sure what to say that hasn't already been said. Please know that my sentiments are the same as the others. They say God only gives what we can handle , but I am sure you have had moments of wondering what the heck he is thinking . I know I would be wondering if I were in the same situation . Your family is lucky that you are so strong with all your loved ones depending on you. They are fortunate to have you there to lean on and hold things together . I am wishing for you only good things to happen from here forward. If good thoughts direct the movements of the universe then with all these people wishing only the best for you, it has to happen. Stay strong and allow your glorious gardens to replenish your spirit when things get tough....See More3katz4me
