would a double sink be so bad if it were HUGE?

I have been reading for years on gardenweb why a large single sink is best. A lot of reasons really make sense. It's finally my turn to do my kitchen, so now I really need to decide what's going to work for me.

My dream is to have a custom soapstone sink made, somewhere between 36 and 42 inches wide, with a smaller bowl on the right side that would be 10-12 inches wide to hold a dishrack to hide the drying pots, draining fruits and veggies, or hot pasta still dripping in the colander. Never mind the endless sorta wet plastic containers needing airtime out of the dishwasher.

So if the main bowl is 24-30 inches wide, would a double bowl sink be so bad? I don't want to regret an expensive purchase.

I like to have a "clean" side. Is there another way of doing this?

I know I absolutely don't want to go without some sort of dishrack. I'm not that tidy. I'm trying to hide it in a deep sink.
