Kohler Verticyl Oval under-mount bathroom sink
Comments (6)Thanks Jules8 for your feedback. I'm not too picky about spotting. This will be a bathroom used daily. I am glad to hear that there isn't splashing. I will be using a single hole Hansgrohe faucet. Thanks for the info about the slope, and as you've indicated it seems too shallow. I have a limited space for the sink in my vanity and this one provides a lot of interior space within the confines of my cabinet. If I decide to get another sink I will have to call the cabinet maker to double check the tolerance I have. The look of this sink is really nice though and I probably will stay with it....See MorePix/feedback: undermount sinks & laminate counters + faucet ?
Comments (0)DH and I have settled on Basalt Slate laminate as the most affordable and attractive option for the counter that will hold our sink. We're happy with that decision, except I would love to have an undermount counter. I'm hoping some of you who have used systems such as Counter-Seal or Karran can share your pictures and experiences. Specifically, I'd like to see what the inside edge of the laminate counter looks like. Have you been happy with the system? How long have you had it, and would you choose something different next time? Additional question: I've found what I think is a good price on a dark-colored Silgranite sink that would blend in with the Basalt Slate counter. (If I have to have a drop-in sink, then at least it won't stand out.) However, the faucet can only be put on the back corner of the sink. Our sink will be a single bowl, about 24", centered under our kitchen window. Do you think it would be weird to have the gooseneck faucet off the the side - essentially beside the cabinets - rather than centered at the middle of the sink and the window? Thank you for your help. I did searches; unfortunately, I can't pull up any of the threads that might help. Hopefully that's a temporary problem with the site repairs; but, just in case it's not temporary, I thought I'd get my question out there....See MoreMold resistant silicone for under-mount sink?

Comments (8)My understanding is that the brackets should be primary and that way if your sink failed some day it could be replaced. My granite fabricator said that was the method responsible fabs use. If it is a strong epoxy, he said it is doubtful the sink could be removed without breaking the granite. (On the other hand, I would think a sink failing is not that common.) I have not finished going through the process myself so I can't evaluate how it looks or works yet. With brackets, there does need to be some kind of caulk to seal it from leaks. If you have a Silgranit sink it cannot be plumber's putty or that will stain your sink permanently. I believe the caulk is a silicon-based, which is what it sounds like you have, WillTV....See Morenerdyshopper
