So glad I found this thread, gold is so hard. :( I've used BM Ivorie and Blonde in past projects and always found them a bit yellow. I just did my bedroom, don't remember the color but looked gorgeous on the card, and it's too orange on the walls. My boyfriend's house has three different golds and I hate all 3 - not in his house necessarily, but not what I want. One is yellow, one is orange and the other, well, I don't know, just don't like it. I am on a tight budget and really don't have extra $$ to waste on a dozen sample pots, though if I can narrow it down to just 2 or 3 I'm sure it's worth that route rather than hating the color. Restrained Gold is lovely, but in my previous home I chose Fairmont Suite Gold over it (Lowes brand). Loved the color there, and it was with the same odd color leather sofa I am still using, but it was a huge house, very open with lots of light. The townhouse I'm getting ready to paint and move to is very small, no natural light, ugh. I really need lighter, but still gold without going yellow. Which of your GOLDS would you recommend that are on the lighter side without looking yellow or peachy?

You are right in that it is so stark. Is the color of the wall set in stone since it seems to be a very warm color. (by the by, i LOVE that chair!) I have a cultured stone product called Boral brick in my kitchen. The color is Oyster bay. I still cant figure how to post photos right on this post but if you do a search, you may FIND MY original POST WHERE I figured it out once lol, sort of. The boral brick though is a bit over sized and is also 3/4 thick. Robinson brick is 1/4 thin and may be easier for you to use over. I just wonder if it makes more sense to just get a sledge hammer if you are having this much trouble. You do need a warmer look there. Robinson thin bricks only had one color I like called ironworks as I didn't want a red brick. it looks very natural. If all else fails, I think doing a sponge technique in a couple of warm colors just may look cool as long as you soften up the edges. Good luck..ps, I may have this photo of mine on here. Love your new paint color! I think your room is really starting to come together. Sewing rod pocket curtains is simple - you can do it! Painting the brick to look like red brick is a simple process and I think it would help that corner not stick out so badly. To paint white brick to look like red brick, just get a sponge cut to the same size as your brick. Paint the grout lines grey. With a red, a black and a little white paint, put globs of these colors in a paper plate. Pounce the sponge into the paint then press the sponge against the brick. It will look like red brick. Promise. I have done this before. You could even work in a little of your wall color!

We prefer neutral colors which allows you to decorate with any color drapes, bedspread, pillows and rugs. Easier to change those than paint the whole room again. I also find them easier to live with for a long time. We had Navajo White before we changed to our current colors. Our bedroom is Kelley Moore Graystone and the other 2 bedrooms are Oyster. Bathrooms are Sandtrap and kitchen/ breakfast room is Leafy Lettuce. You could go with my sister's color palette who lives in southern Florida. A little too colorful for us. Wild Colors
