I think it is a very lovely and inviting room.
My only advice is from Coco Chanel, get dressed and then take one accessory off. I think I'd go with one plant on your cab instead of 2....or maybe trim them back a little.

The chairs on the left...I can'r remember where/when you got them. Was it a " find" ? I love the look of them with the cushion covers...also can't remember if you did those.

The reason I ask is that I saw a pair of these at the Thrift store the other day....if I could do the new covers I would get them in a heartbeat...if they are still there. Any info will be appreciated. I LOVE the new drapes and arrangement. c

What a nice change. It was already a nice room but the change is great. I love how the two new chairs make more of a cozy area with the wicker chair and the sofa is better placed for tv viewing. It just seems more inviting. The curtains were such a simple change but really give a different look. Love it.

The window treatments makes the room much more elegant, great idea to add the molding on top.

Very pretty with that new furniture arrangement, and I love the look of the new curtain panels, too. Amazing how such a simple change can bring new life into your space. It looks very warm and inviting.

Thanks! Forgot to say in my post( thanks new medicine) that the color is off. the color hasnt changed it is still a green- may paint blue at some point. The curtains are linen pretty much go with the slipcover color.The woodwork and thewhite painted furniture and don't glow in the dark! The table between the chairs is painted BM Revere Grey
The black lamp behind the sofa is a stand in until I find one.(DDs from college)
The pillows are made from a rescued quilt circa 1920s.
dianalo- yeh they do look a bit overgrown-I keep thinking of what I could do there/buy for that space.
Caroline- here is a pic of hte chairs- kinda dark yes the chairs are a CL find. made new covers of navy ticking. Havent been able to address the finish yet.
and the paintings need to be centered (all paintings in room are by DD).
Mitch- the moldings were there- under the WTs.All of the windows in the house have them. Thought I would go back to the original way of hanging curtains with these type moldings- let'em show.

There are so many, many things I love about your home. One is the lovely split pea green soup color by Olympia. I can't believe you want to repaint it blue. It is so perfect right now.

(Nice new TV, too. That really makes a difference.) Love that TV stand cabinet, tassel girl.

My honest opinion? I love it! I just want to drink something yummy and sit with your dog!

Now, IF I were to change something, it would be minor. I would change 2 of the three pieces on your mantel. I'd keep 3 total but make 2 less predictable (the serving pieces, I think they are?). That's it!

Oh wait the room? It's lovely, sorry. I like it too much to complain. I suppose if I had to stretch....ya ditch one plant on the cabs. And as a personal preference I wouldn't mind seeing a light fixture that was a little bit bolder. Almost more masculine to offset the feminine feel of the room. Not a modern piece.....something....oh let me go shopping at rejuvenation...

The holly, Waverly, woodstock,ainsworth, And I actually love the hermosa but don't know if you have the height for it.

I like it a lot. I think the curtains are a really nice change, although the old ones were also nice. The new have a more tailored, simple, clean look that works with all of the other elements. I like the new furniture placement, and you know I love those old chairs.

You have a lot of things in that room that I would have as well. The white tureens, the artwork, the mirror, the soft, understated holiday decor...it looks like what I would do, so it's hard for me to find a criticism.

I love the painted furnitre, and am struggling with a room right now that has ended up with all light/white painted furniture. It looks much better than it did, but now it looks a little washed out and ?boring/sterile/dare I say...cold? Looking at your pics, you have the wood tones of the chairs, the boxes, the lamps, the golden frames, etc. that seems to balance the white furniture. Maybe I need to incorporate some of those things into my room? I see you also have a wood floor, and we have carpet in that room, so maybe that's part of it.

OK, if I had to say anything, I would agree about the plants, but other than that, I think it looks really wonderful.

Lol sue yes I was, but it was probably more of aN iPad issue than the wine since I only had one glass last night. This stupid thing thinks for me and often changes names and words to ones it likes better. It's a bit annoying.

I love that lamp heh heh. I also meant to comment on my admiration of your ability to hang onto the fabulous shoe art.

Igloo- I still have those paintings because DD hasnt moved out into her own apt yet. I expect to lose some/all of her paintings in the spring.

I'm new to this forum. I was looking for decorating ideas. This is one inviting comfortable looking room. I do have a couple ideas that I would do.
I think the room has too much furniture. The TV looks off in front of the window. It seems a bit cluttered even with very little clutter because of the amount of furniture.
The room needs a focal point. The TV in front of a window catches the eye because it's dark black in a white room and in an awkward place.
I'd put the wicker chair, the small dresser(?)next to it and the brown piece behind it in another area or store it.
I'd also remove the piece on the left of those wonderful brown chairs (the one with the vase and the plate) unless it's a part of the sound system. In that case, I'd just remove the vase and plate.
I believe this will "open up the room" and make it look a LOT bigger.
I would put the tv where the wicker chair/dresser/brown piece was.
I'd also remove the wicker pieces from the coffee table but leave the candle.
I think you have "too much of a good thing".
The carpet, the mantle and the rest of the seating arrangement is wonderful! You have great colors and a lovely dog :) PJ

I love your home, Cooperbailey! Your kitchen was one of my inspirations for painting my cabs & doing beadboard backsplash. I feel like I could come over and make myself at home with Coop & Bailey curled up keeping my feet warm, drinking a cup of coffee (or something stronger!) maybe a little kahlua in the coffee!
