Hi, Lindsay. I've got a few furniture arrangements to consider. They all have a moveable island cart for the kitchen. The first two are similar to your current set-up, in that they define the entry. One has the reversible chaise while the other is a regular sofa. The last one has a sideboard behind the sofa. It would serve as a sofa table and provide additional storage. You could think about placing your less frequently used kitchen items in there. The last one also has a reversible chaise. Pottery Barn has some reversible chaises, but I'm not certain their upholstered furniture is of high quality, so you'll want to look into that. Their case goods may be okay. Here are examples of the reversible chaise sofa and a sideboard. The chaise on the sofa has a storage compartment. The dimensions of each seem to be compatible with one another. I don’t know if you will go for this color, but it is absolutely perfect for fleeting daylight. It is also a winner with Revere Pewter and white or off whites. Thank you, I think we could start by taking into account the constraints (doors etc), this is really the most difficult thing to place elements such as sideboard (if there is one), sofa, coffee table, kitchen island - or kitchen table - etc. I don't particularly want a TV corner, if you can fit one (or an ultra-short focal length projector) why not ? but it's not essential. I'm not against a room partition (between kitchen and living room), but taking care not to block the light and "break" the volume of the room. So, if anyone wants to try? A layout to propose, even roughly.... modules, furniture, elements... a continuity between the kitchen and the living room... all ideas are good to take, because we still haven't found the magic formula! thank you very much !

I need to understand your personality better to give good advice. You obviously like color and aren't afraid of using color in your home. Love this, but what are your favorite colors? Green, but which greens and how do you combine them with other colors? Do you have a piece of art that could inspire your design? There are a ton of ways to add color to your home but the idea is that you want something that makes the whole place feel cohesive. Use a color as an accent in one room and as the main color in the next, mixing and matching from room to room or use just one color and place it in every room. Whole home color palette examples: Ways to add color: Furniture: Walls: Trim: Ceiling: lighting/accent furniture: Area Rug: I love how this person flip flopped the trim and wall color between these two rooms: Many of my examples have bright lime greens because I like that color, but it was not something that worked easily into my interior as my entry has purple/red/green slate flooring and a large pink brick wall that is shared by the living room and foyer. I also love purples and teals which worked better than the brighter, yellower greens with the majority of the things I own and with the colors that weren't changing in my home. When designing a color palette I always start with the things that must stay - either can't afford to change or don't want to change. Can't ignore them - they have to work with the rest of the colors. Step 2 is always figuring out the colors that make the home owner's heart sing. Do they love blues or greens or red or yellow? Do they love bright, bold colors, or subdued muted colors or soft pastels or dark and moody? Then I figure out how those colors can be incorporated into the color scheme, how they will flow from room to room, where they will be the main color and where they will be the accent.
