What Color Did You Paint Your Entry?
Comments (36)Geez Red, you sound like me. After 8 quarts of paint, I think I have finally settled on BM Shelbourne Buff. Now I can call the painters! You just cannot tell with a swatch or even a 2 foot square (at least I can't.) Sooooo, I painted the same wall 8 times and I would live with each color for a couple days and finally I think I've got it! It's gold enough to go with my BM pirate's chest but not overly gold. Besides, I saw it in the local decorator's showhouse and loved it. That always helps - when some real professional somewhere picked that exact same color!...See MoreWhat type of paint/color did you use in your garage?
Comments (12)DS painted her's a beautiful pale green and this summer she stained the concrete floors. Looks great! I would use eggshell or satin. You want a finish that allows you to wipe it down when needed. My garage is white, but I'd like to paint it a color. Comments (10)Try it with the same trim color, but if it pops out too much, go back and do the gray that's on the doors. I'm thinking the trim color will defeat the purpose of blending in the garage doors and side doors. You don't want to call attention to the garage doors, right? Even having gray or black french doors with white trim would have the effect of outlining the doors and making them stand out rather than recede. Comments (7)I like a green-blue suggestion above, but your exterior colors are so neutral that you can choose almost any color you like and it will be another step to make this house "yours". A bright blue door will make a bold statement and will be an eye-catching focal point distracting from poor landscaping. On the porch, you can add an outdoor chair and decorate it with some bright pillows that will match your front door. If there is not enough space for chair you can add an unusually patterned rug. Read more about how to choose a color for the front door and how to paint it properly. On both sides of the stairs, you can add pots of flowers it is a good idea to make your entry more inviting and interesting. Some inspirational pictures:...See Moremalhgold
