SW Softer Tan or Croissant to sell the house

Inherited an older home without much character and looking to make it look clean, warm and inviting to sell without spending a lot of money and new paint may just do the trick.

Want to paint the first floor a nice tan color without green or pink undertones and read good things about Softer Tan and Croissant. Trim and ceilings will be white and there is a varigated brown with tan shades wall to wall carpet.

It will depend on the lighting and what time of day it will be shown most.

I have Softer Tan in my kitchen and like it. It does lean to yellow at times during the day.

I haven't used Croissant but comparing the sample to Softer Tan, it looks like it might have pink undertones.

Again, depending on the light, you might consider Kilim Beige, many people use it to sell houses.

We have croissant in our home and I love it. It does not have pink undertones. We also used one shade lighter in our master bedroom and hallways. I think if I was doing the whole house, I would ue the lighter shade - it is called Irish Cream. I have had it for 6 years and I still look at it and think what a nice color it is. Again, I love the croissant as well but it is definitely darker. I would sample both. You could also use both colors in the home. For example, I have Irish Cream in my bedroon and Croissant in my master bath.
Before we moved out of our last home, I painted a few rooms with the Irish Cream to "go neutral" and I had a realtor ask me for the name of the paint.
I think Kilim Beige is a nice color too but I think it may have some green undertones.
The Croissant in definitely in the warm color category.

Yes, you have to try a pretty large swatch on your own walls to make sure a color will work. I had spent a lot of time picking the colors for my house in the northeast. When I moved to CA I thought I could just use the same colors. Wrong! The colors I had loved in the old house did not work in the new house. I had to repaint the whole downstairs after that mistake!

I had my den painted Kilm Beige and I was very unhappy with it. In my house, it leaned peach and was dark at night. My husband went to work and I repainted with SW White Duck and I LOVE it.

Hi. My house trim is all sw softer tan. Way too big of a job to change it, but want to repaint the walls. They are currently practical beige or something similar. Would like to go lighter. If I go super Light we will have to do the ceilings too, but if we just go a little lighter, we can avoid that. Would love suggestions!!

We just got BM Nature's Essentials to replace SW Softer Tan. Accessible Beige was too gray for our BM Alexandria Beige cabinets. Love Nature's Essentials so far! Not a dated tan, soft, bright, and gray undertones. Still need to paint the ceiling white; it's still Softer Tan. (I know; we painted out of order. It is what it is!)

I just used SW Softer Tan and I had to repaint immediately!! My test board looked fine, but once I got it on all the walls in the upstairs hallway it turned very yellow/orange during the day and had a sickly green glow at night.I ended up repainting with BM Manchester Tan and BM White Sand in a few of the lower light areas.

This house seem to turn many of the beige colors into yellows. I ended up testing my colors directly on the walls after the Softer Tan mistake. I used SW Kilim Beige in my last house, but it didn't work in this one.

I have Irish Creme almost everywhere in my house since it was new construction and I chose one color for all the walls. The ceilings are Irish Creme reduced 20 percent. The only rooms that are not Irish Creme are my daughter's bedroom which is Cadillac Pink by PB/BM, The office is Copen Blue by SW, and the Master Bath is Frostworks by SW.

FWIW, the sample of Irish Creme looks much more pink/warm than it actually looks on the walls. It really does not do it justice. We had this in a previous home too, as do several family members. The color looks wonderful and soft in any room, regardless of light.
