Outside mount Roller Shade WITH inside mount 2" wood blinds??
Comments (10)@lizbeth-gardener, yes, you're right. However, I'm thinking that the surface is smaller than drapes and easier to vacuum. I can use a hair dryer or compressed air can to blow the dust out of the cell insides, wait 10 minutes for the dust to settle, then vacuum the floor. I went to a couple of stores today, including Hunter Douglas, to look as shades, valances, etc. Ugh. Not pretty. Not happy. I guess I might start looking at washable curtains...or maybe consider buying a steam cleaner so I can regularly steam clean (steam kills dust mites) non-washable drapes on a regular basis....See MoreSilly rant: outside mount Roman shades
Comments (3)They aren't that high...maybe 3-4 inches above the windows; 8' ceilings. Still need to install the minimal valance to the top I googled how to decide between inside or outside mount, and it sounds like inside mount is typically much more common. I thought these turned out nice, mainly needed for privacy. I've seen Roman shades installed right at the ceiling -- looks great but I thought it didn't make a lot of sense for the top-down option. I think he was imagining a built-in all around the window of the office plus the wall. It's a cool idea; I don't think the shade necessarily prevent that......See MoreRoman shade outside mount
Comments (4)What is the correct size? I can get ready made in the 32” width size. I thought I could get three shades across the wall with windows at 23” square and a 4.5” over the edge of the window and I would have 17” of wall space between each of the shades....See MoreOutside mount Roman shades
Comments (4)I'm trying to add some softness over windows with wood blinds. I'd like to keep the blinds because we live in the desert and like to be able to direct the light. The windows are average-sized, not anything special. One over the sink and there are three of the same in an eating area. I don't want to do panels and valances look like high water pants to me....See Morenewdawn1895
