Felt chair pads to protect the floor

I have those little, felt chair pads on the legs of my kitchen stools to help prevent scratching the wooden floor. I've used them since 2001 without a problem, changing them maybe yearly. I never gave a thought to them between changing, I'd just notice they looked old and dirty when I had the chairs upside down on the counter when I washed the floor.

The last few times I changed them, they don't stay stuck to the chairs. They either fall completely off or they slide halfway off and I'd have to reapply it. The first time I thought, okay, maybe it was a faulty pack. So after about a week, I pulled them off and put all new pads on from an all new pack. I'm having the same issue as before.

Can anyone recommend a brand that works? Or what I can do to clean or prep the foot so they stay put?
