bellaflora, I am happy to say that I got that approx. 8x11 Karastan Persian Treasures wool rug on eBay!!! It was $460, if I recall. Another eBay bargain.

Sam trades off with Joey and Jenny for couch time. Joey was in the first shot, and he is now on the loveseat in there. Jenny is in a chair in my office, and Sam is again enjoying the sofa. My dogs' feet briefly touch the floor while they go to their favorite seating!

I just found a potential accessory for the coffee table. I just got this bowl on eBay for $5.99. It's 10" wide x 9" tall. The design that is on the top also runs down the sides under the gold handles, running from top to bottom, but it doesn't show in this pic from the auction. Compare the pattern and colors on the lid, and I think it'll blend nicely with the rug, don't you?

Here is a lesson to always ask questions. The shipping on this bowl was listed at around $35 - CRAZY! So I wrote the seller, as WHO would pay that? Again, the eBay shipping calculator screwed up. So the bowl didn't sell, due to that crazy shipping fee, I'm sure, and since I had asked my question before the auction ended, the seller just set up a Buy It Now for me, for the opening bid price.

I am hiding out from the Trick-or-Treaters that are still coming in car loads from other areas. UGH!!! Anyway, I started looking at eBay and found a print that I really must have. The listing had a "make an offer" tab, so I made an offer of $10 less than the seller had it listed (at $22.) I doubt he will accept it, but the shipping is $18. Cross your fingers for me! If I win, I will show it off.

IMO, at least in the pix, it looks too small and too delicate for the tufted leather chesterfield couch.

But if you think it works IRL, that is great!

I really appreciate your opinion. Since my LR is only 10 feet wide, I have to be careful as to what I put in there so it doesn't make it seem even narrower. This table is actually slightly larger in width and depth than the antique wooden trunk I had in there before. Putting something longer in front of the sofa would mean that one would have to walk around it to get through the room. I have 24" on either side of the table, as compared to the length of the sofa.

I think that if there are 'rules' to base the table size on, I needed to tweak them a bit given the dimensions of the room, which is 25' long. I didn't want it to appear even longer. I am enjoying the visual of having the room appear more open in width with it there, and being able to see more of my wonderful rug. Believe me, if I had a room with better dimensions, I wouldn't have looked so long for a smaller table to put in there. :-)

I also wanted something open and leggy to balance all the wood in the room. Also, when it has an accessory or two on it, I feel it will add weight to the look. Right now it's naked!

I bought the covered bowl because it looked like a great piece for $5.99. It may not end up there; I'll try it when it arrives, and if I don't like the look, it won't land there. Those are the chances you take when buying online, but it's different and I'll enjoy it somewhere in the house. I thought of interesting floral arrangements I could do in it when I saw it.

What a beautiful room! Oh, to have a room that has width as well as length! After I bought my table, 'Chijim' sent me the link below to this table, and I told him that this is the one I aspire to have when I grow up (and have $1400 to buy it with). Check the link to see other photos of it. Yummy!
