Thanks for sharing. I used to watch their original show a long time ago and then with everything I watch I get bored and move on to something else. Doesn't look like it airs in my area from their website. Hoping it will get picked up. What I liked about their show was how they showed how to do things. All current shows that are on all seem to just show the before and after and not the steps to get to a good quality end results. Which if you look at their zoom-ups of the current shows just seems to show a gob of paint or paint brush streaks etc. I miss shows that have the how-to's of doing things in a quality fashion and gave some ideas as well on decorating. I do like eye candy of before and after, but I don't actually watch the show I just glance at the screen shots here and there if the TV is tuned to those shows.

Thank you EVERYONE for the positive comments, I had a big smile this am. I told hubby my "forum friends" liked our room. The truth comes out, we froze our fannies in that room this winter, so we moved furniture to the living room while remodeling, and now I like it empty!! We are considering putting in a wood burning black stove in the corner. There is another large window to the right, just not pictured. I might put french doors on the room and close it off. I think the furniture is going to the basement when we find some strong men!!!! If anyone wants the 12 pleated shades, I posted them on CL!! I have not ordered wood blinds yet. I have a plaid fabric I'm considering for panels, will keep you posted on our final decisions. Thanks again. 4 windows, 2 end windows open, and I like things in 3, so that's why I considered 3 blinds butted up to each other. 2 or 4 blinds could work, I'm confused too, and I SELL THEM!!

More acurately, "Chicago" isn't experiencing a spate of killings. The ENGLEWOOD area of Chicago is. This is where our DIL taught junior high (to kids as old as 16), one of whom was finally expelled after threatening to kill her with a knife (after being suspended for threatening another teacher). It's a whole 'nother world. The shootings are gang-related, but nobody is safe. Very few of DIL's students lived with even one relative. School was their only 'safe place', and often the only source of nourishing food. Have any of you watched "The Wire"? That HBO series about Baltimore had it spot-on about the gangs, the police, the schools. In one scene a seasoned teacher explains to a new recruit that on Mondays the kids come in traumatised and exhausted. By Tuesday you see a few smiles. Wednesday is the best day. By Thursday they're alreading dreading the weekend. Friday is grim. It's a waste of time and money trying to help these kids the way we did it in the past. My 'solution' is for the public schools to offer boarding school to parents who want to see their children have better lives. (Same rules as private boarding schools regarding limited visits, rights to kick a kid out for cause.) We're already feeding these kids and paying out child support. Think of the savings for police, hospitals, prisons. Think of breaking the cycle of hopelessness for the ones who want to learn another way to live.

I just cant watch it anymore, it's a big infomercial these days, and that tech guy pushing all the "must have" overpriced techno gimmicks is the worst. I saw renovation rescue the other week and shock horror, they actually did a place up (albeit with brand new furniture thrown in) but they didnt just rip everything down and throw it out (I usually watch these shows saying "OMG, look what they just threw in the bin!", it's the sort of stuff I usually buy and fix up, lol
