Depending on their condition, that seems like a good deal to me. Backs appear to be a little taller than the couch, but that is fine. You have a very traditional feel going, and those are a good fit.

The chairs seem to be in great shape for the price and I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't go with the couch. As for the pictures I would only ask whether you like them or not. If you do, style-wise and color-wise I think they would be fine. The main thing is for you to feel an emotional connection to them; art is decorative but it should also have some meaning for you.

I think the chairs go well with the sofa. I love the sofa, I LOVE the pictures you have propped up against your table, (and I ALSO love your drapes... why are you changing the drapes??).
I do not excell at visualizing, so I would say that I like the shape of the chairs and imagine that with some other covering they would look great in your room. I think they go fine as is, but I think they could be stupendous with other fabric.(sorry if that is not in the budget)..

Ok....I am going to go look at the chairs. I will let you all know how it turns out. It is a two hour drive, so I hope they are as nice as they look!

If I liked traditional, I'd use them.

They are "curvy" and tranditional, the colors are even pretty good.

kmcg85....Thank you! I love that picture also. I had given it to my daughter, thinking I had no place for it. Well, as you can see, it's now back with me :) It does need to be framed differently though.

I have to say, I'm a bit worried the chairs will look too matchy. They were such a good price, that if I only use one I will still be happy. I could always recover the other one for use in a different room.

Interesting - if you look at the picture of the woman in the blue gown, she seems to be using a sofa that matches the real one.

It was at least 20 years ago when I was at the mall with my aunt and we spotted this picture at the Bombay shop--

Way back in 1947 I was modeling in a fashion show in a blue dress very similar to the dress in the picture--

My aunt insisted I buy the picture -----she has since passed away at age 93 but I have a wonderful memory of that shopping day and the picture.
the picture I have is beautifully matted and in a gold frame

Does anyone know the name of that print, or the artist? It's really quite lovely, and I adore the colors in it.

Just a little info on the lady in blue. After a little searching online, I discovered the artist is Joanne Pemberton Longman. The name of the painting is The Sound of Music.

I purchased mine at Kirklands about ten years ago. I located the print on Ebay if anyone is interested. Interestingly enough, there is a companion piece called The Secret.
