Hey, I actually work for an upholstery company that also does blinds and window treatments. I highly recommend you take the measurements yourself to save any fees from having them come out to measure. The only thing left would be installation. Just measure the height, widthe and depth of the wood trim around the window, on it's inside points. For your glass doors, or taller windows, there is something called solar shades ( a company named graber offers them) They are a porus plastic that reduces glare and brightness but still lets you see out, and people from the outside have trouble seeing in because of the glare on the glass. You can hang the panels like curtains, but most people opt for a pull down roller shade..? The other peice of information I have to offer is that loew's and home depot offer a competitor discount. Get a quote from both places for the exact same product and service. Then, go to the most expensive place, and they'll match the competitor price AND reduce cost by 10%-20% if you explain at the service desk. so if loews is 100$ and home depot is 110$, go to home depot and pay 90$. I'm so excited - I think this is going to work out!! When I found the fabric I asked to have it cut right away and as the lady was doing it I said that I usually have to take a bunch of swatches home..... Her comment was life is too short to make yourself crazy over fabric. I should stencil that on my walls! Or tattoo it on my forehead. Here's the chair I found on CL for $20. (BTW - could have bought 4 - kind of kicking myself but don't know what I'd do with them anyway) I want to paint it - hate to do more black but either that or white. Keith thinks I'm ruining a good chair by painting it - of course! So - black or white? If you remember, the sofabed on the other side of the room is white. And here is the fabric I bought - will use it for the cafe curtain, too. Will do an edge banding in plain black (bought that fabric, too!) for the woven valance and french door shades to pull the 2 parts of the room together. Still thinking Palace white for the walls but that could change.

Snbtwins, your best bet is decide the length of the rod, where you want the panels to start and stop. Since you are having the panels custom made, I would suggest you use that measurement to figure how many lengths or half lengths of fabric you want the panels to be. When I make panels I prefer them to be at least double the width they were cover. Since you will not be closing them, that would be from the edge inside edge of the window trim to the finial. Measure from arrow to arrow and double (or 2.5 times) to get width of finished panel.

Jute or sisal is fine. So are woven shades under panels But you have WAY too much visual clutter in the spaces. Both of them. Prune,,,,,,,,,lose the shelves over sideboard for some nicely sized ART. the piano end would benefit from some visual weight in more comfortable upholstered chairs, with arms Add the rug, a table and lamp between the chairs, lose the candles on the piano. box clutter on the floor. Try a prune. The space will feel better.......larger. Also ore balanced. Nature is great..........plant overkill less so. One plant corner. .......healthy.
