Crema Marfil Lookalike Mosaic

Hi, I'm trying to locate a porcelain or ceramic mosaic that looks like crema marfil. Has anyone come across any? I'm planning to use 5/8" honed crema mosaics (in a group of 4) with an white octagon floor tile, but would rather not use marble on the shower floor. The tile stores haven't been helpful, they're just saying I should use marble. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked at Crossville porcelain tile?

I think I've seen Crossville, but don't remember any looking like crema marfil. Although right about now I've seen so many they're all a blur! I'll go look at their lines again in a store.

I have crema marfil as a countertop and in the shower. Something I learned along the way is that crema marfil can have different undertones depending on where it's mined from. I bought my crema marfil for my shower, 12 by 12 tile for bottom half of shower, and 3 by 6 subway tiles from Home Depot. the countertop came from a nearby granite manufacturer. They look different frome one another; one has a grey undertone and the other has a yellow undertone. If I'd known that then I would have made a better decision. But the decision to use crema marfil itself...no regrets, it's really warm and beautiful. Just make sure that the tile you buy is consistent becaue it can look very different!

Blondelle, thanks for the reply. I don't really want much gray--a little is fine but I really would like something with a creamy white background with various shades of beige throughout the majority of the pieces, and just a little bit of gray mixed in. What do you think, does this description come close to the unicorn sample you have? I do need it to have a significant about of beige. Plain white would not work for my kitchen. I realize that it's hard to tell from just one sample, and the beige may be a bit more pronounced and noticeable once all of the tile is installed. But based on your pieces, do you think this could be what I have described? Thanks again.

I created this board for someone else (jodigus) but it might provide some ideas for you. The granite in this pic is Sedna, which is a cousin of the granites you mention. I liked the idea of a metallic backsplash without any pattern. The metallics shown in the pic below are metal laminates from Chemetal (http://www.chemetal.com/). How nice to find such compliments - I researched my Ebay acct & general Ebay search w/o any luck finding the seller - There are a few mosiac sellers from Lebanon Here are some additional pics that I just took. It is a challenge w/camera, flash, proper lighting shaugnn - the inspiration came from the sellers available works at the time probably early 2006. The sizing of what he had available did not work for our application so I wrote to him & he agreed to do a custom piece according to our specs.

I have the actual Crema Marfil tumbled marble tiles on my kitchen backsplash. I got them at Interceramic Tile and seem to remember some ceramic tiles that looked very similar. It's been a year now and I can't remember names, etc. Do you have one of their showrooms nearby? You might call one and ask them. They were very knowledgeable and helpful when I worked with them last year at this time.

I have Atlas Concorde Marfil. I got it at Mosaic Tile Co. in Merrifield, Virginia.
