One just has to accept that once you post a pic on the internet you've lost all ownership.
At least she made a note that the tub wasn't almond, but she should get the tile correct.
Me, I'd write her and tell her the tile is porcelain.

She hosts through toronto.bluefur.com. See if there is a Canadian equivalent of a DMCA notice. If there is, issue one through her host.

If there isn't, email her directly and request the take-down.

ALWAYS watermark your online pictures. You can do it through pickmonkey.com (free) or even paint. Make sure your watermark is on a diagonal so no one can go over it with a label or ribbon. Use the fade, and do it either very large or smack across your pic. If faded enough it doesn't interfere with the looks of your photograph.

If this happens to you with a US host, a DMCA notice will have the pics down in 24 hours.

Just because people steal pictures online doesn't mean you have to allow it. Once you take a picture, it is yours. Unless you sell the rights, no one is entitled to that photograph without compensation and permission.

Honestly, I don't care that much. If it was a picture of my family or me, I would be very upset, but the bathtub? Who cares. I figure when I post on GW, it is out there for anyone to grab. I do think the watermark is a good idea.

So many people post pics of the kids and family. Who knows where they end up? At least watermarking would make them less appealing to "picture thieves".

What I like about the bathtub is that the front of it curves outward and gives me lots of room for showering. I don't have a separate shower. I like to like diagonally with my head on one corner and my feet on the other when I bathe. I can really stretch out that way.

Anyway, the rest of you better look through her pics to see if she's borrowed anything of yours. She is obviously using GW as a source!

I remember one women here that had posted a pick of her chandelier with her child standing nearby and someone took the child and photoshopped s/he hanging from the chandelier...
There is a way to stop your photos from being posted somewhere else.
Although any bas*ard can do a work around
but the common blogger will not deal with it..

But I agree about watermarking. I put my blog url on all my photos I put online whether I put them on my blog or not. And it's not just because of having them posted on pinterest and who knows where. But when I'm searching for imaging, and find something (like a house with green paint on the gable) and find one, I often want to see where the photo came from to see if there are more photos so I can get a better look. If they are watermarked, it's easy to find the original source but if not, and they are on a website that just reposts photos, it is really difficult.

My bathroom is on a blog. Can't remember where. It was a post on paintcolors. I didn't really care. I've also come across my bedoom and dining room on pinterest.

I looked through the photos of the homes you staged and admire your work. Thanks for saying the tub surround was well done. I am a bit sorry I used those little glass tiles because I realize they are a passing style and will soon be dated, but oh well, they are pretty for now. You should stick around and join the decorating conversations here.

And just so you know, for your glass tile, I'm not sure where you live, but here we have a product called 'Stone Skin' which is made to go over other tiles. The reason it works so well is that it's super thin so it doesn't cause a huge lip from one style of tile to another - just a thought for you anyways - I thought it looked great :)

Though it is an honor to have ones home showcased on a blog it's nicer if you're asked first.
And yes there is Pinterest where photos from all over the web are posted, but most are linked back to the source. Personally if a photo I want to pin is not linked to it's original posting I'll search for it's origin and pin from there. If I can't find it, I don't pin it.

OT - but as someone who's home originally had drab green, yellow and robin's egg blue plumbing fixtures, I fail to see what's so bad about almond. Almond wouldn't have bothered me - it can be kind of pleasant.

The green was the worst because either the toilet seat had been replaced at some point or it had faded differently than the body so the thing was two-toned yucky green.

I had all Harvest Gold kitchen appliances at one time. Adored them when I got them. Later, not so much.

Thanks for the tip about Stoneskin. I may use it in the future. Does it work on large floor tiles? Unfortunately the floor tiles in my bathroom are slippery when wet and I'd love to come up with a solution. They are also porcelain.
