Color to compliment BM Bleeker Beige (Pic)

Hi,

My painter is coming later this week (hopefully) if all goes well with DH's surgery Monday. We have paint colors for DDs BRs and bathroom just not sure about DS's BR and adjoining bathroom. I posted a a few weeks ago and quite of few people suggested beige. I like BM Bleeker Beige for his bathroom and/or bedroom but I'm having a hard time with a complimentary color. I've included a picture of his bedding. Any ideas?

When you say you're looking for a complementary color, do you mean another paint color in the same room with the Bleeker Beige - i.e., one color above chair rail and one below, or just one wall painted another color? Or, are you talking about Bleeker Beige in one of his rooms, and a different color for his other room? Or, do you mean another color for fabrics, accents, etc?

If you mean two paint colors that complement each other in the same room with that quilt, I think red always looks nice with navy and beige.

Pam14: We're talking about Bleeker Beige in one room and a different color for his other room. I hadn't thought of red but that could definitely work. What shade of red? Any specific red in mind? The red would be for the bedroom and the beige for the bathroom, right?

I have Shaker Beige is my hallway too and used BM Manchester Tan in a bedroom. Although the colors (intensity) are quite close, the white door and trim does break it up. It looks fine. Hope that helps.

Here is my kitchen in Putnam Ivory, with light oak cabinets. I liked it so much I painted my living room the same color. I painted the ceiling Elephant Tusk, which looks like a white next to the walls, but is a lot warmer. In progress, in natural light - you can see the ceiling color against the white light fixture. I was running out of paint, so I didn't paint behind all the cabinets. Looking at the two photos together, obviously the color is different with and without flash. Accent walls can add interest where there is none. I prefer them on walls where there is no redeeming architectural feature to catch the eye. I do make exceptions for fireplace walls. If you look at the images below, the one color that repeatedly shows up (usually in curtains) is some kind of blue. That might be a direction for you. The general rule is for colors to pick up the fabrics/textiles in your space. The first thing I thought of when seeing the pic was something in a blue gray.It would compliment the bedding.

Sorry, I posted without a color suggestion! I am too fast for my own good! Anyway, I tried to find a BM gray that didn't lean too green or purple. I came up with BM Bunny Gray 2124-50 or the next one down which is Thundercloud Gray 2124-40. I think either would compliment the BB and the bedding.

kmcg85: I have an older BM fandeck so I don't have any of the 2000 numbers. I'll have to look it up online. Thanks for the suggestions.

My fan deck is older (8 years) also. It is the color preview deck. Another color I came across today at the BM store was Collingwood OC28. A light gray. Very pretty.

I finally got a chance to get to the paint store and the grays you suggested are very pretty. I got a sample of the Thundercloud Gray (liked the cool name) and just painted a sample on DS's wall. I also picked up samples of SW Hopsack, Latte and Kilim Beige. I brought one of DS's pillow shams and the guys at SW suggested these colors. Now it's time to wait and see them dry.
