I got one a year or two ago and it is heaven! Mine is Sunbeam which I purchased online. Was it from Macy's???

It says it can be washed though I haven't ventured into that yet and was planning to for this season. Forget the instructions but was thinking of line drying and maybe just soaking it to wash without submerging the plug part in a washing machine run.

btw, I have used it constantly during cooler weather, as my cats just loove it, and it has held up fine. It was basically for them anyway, lol, as there were some squabbles over the heating pad : ) and two of those didn't work either!

Oh my....this is something that I have fallen in love with...even in this early fall, I turn it on a bit to warm up the bed....hate those cold sheets.

I got mine from JC Penney's...it says it can be washed, but I have not yet...but it is a bit of heaven on earth.

Did I mention that I love, love, love my heated mattress pad? LOL

LOVE my heated mattress pad! Even better than the electric blanket I used to have all my life. I HAVE washed it. It says to block it to dry, but I just draped it over my deck furniture to dry, (it dried in a jiffy) and the shape didn't change.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Warm and cozy bed to slide into on those chilly nights ..... then my cold feet warm up before DH comes to bed for the night! ((which was the very reason that we bought the heating pad in the first place! LOL!))

LOVE MINE TOO!!! We have one on every bed in the house. My kids & cat love it also. Nothing like preheating up the bed on a cold night before you jump in. Was nervous about washing, but it came out perfectly fine.
Highly recommend. Ditto what teacats said, we can have some pretty cool nights in Texas. I can't sleep when my feet are freezing cold. This heated pad takes care that.
I don't remember what brand mine is, but I got it at Bed, Bath & Beyond and used one of their 20% off coupons.

We wore our first one out. We love it. So toasty and with dual controls we are both happy. We got ours at Target.

Another heated mattress pad lover. I first bought one when DH and I would stay at my MIL's unheated (well, woodstove) weekend place during the winter. We now use one in our house. We like to keep the room really cold at night, and having the heated mattress pad means we don't need several heavy comforters on the bed. I've purchased 2, both at JCP.

How does a heated mattress pad feel compared to an electric blanket? I have always used an electric blanket, and it seems like you would be cold on top.

Guess I had better get out and get one, have an el. blanket and couldn't get through the winter without it and it washes beautifully. The other nite I was so, so cold I got up and put on a cotton sweater over my cotton winter (long sleeve) pj's/ winter is coming. I felt cold right to the bone and I was too lazy to go and get another blanket so I think the mattress pad sounds like a good idea, just to find one on sale now, I know they are pricey. Thanks girls.

I have had both, the electric mattress pad and the electric blanket. I'm going back to the electric blanket as I like it much better than the pad. I found that I could feel the wires when I was laying on the pad. Also, I did feel a little "cool" on the top. So for me it will be the electric blanket again this winter.

Oh, I should mention that we have no heat in our bedroom and we live in Wisconsin so the winters do get cold!

I just got a $100 one on clearance at Tuesday Morning for $20. I haven't tried it yet but after reading the above posts, I can't wait.

We bought ours about two years ago at Wal-Mart. I think it was somewhere between $80 and $120 for a queen size. It is a Sunbeam, too. We love the thing. I like a big puffy duvet, but DH can't stand to be so covered up. This works great for us, especially with the separate controls for each side.

All we have on the bed in the winter is the heated pad, flannel sheets, an EMPTY duvet cover (for decorative purposes only) and a microfiber blanket. We stay toasty. Also, there is the added benefit of letting the programmable thermostat drop overnight to save money on the heating bill.

I thought I might feel the wires, but I don't. Maybe its because we put on the flannel sheets when we put on the heated mattress pad.

I am going to buy one for sure. Several people have suggested Sunbeam. Good idea or should I go for a super cushioned luxury one?

I keep worring about feeling the wires.

I can't return this easily since I live in Mexcio and will be ordering on line. We have a few evenings in the mid 30s and I have a heavy down comforter for the top.

Do any of you worry about the electromagnetic fields exposure? I haven't read any conclusive evidence that those fields can cause DNA damage (and cancer), but I always think about it when I use a heating pad. Am I the only paranoid one in the group?? wig

I have one and love it. I turn it on before I go to bed, let the bed heat up and turn it off when I go to bed.

The top isn't cold because heat rises.

Now this is a subject I can warm up to! My DH has a bad back, and I am pretty cold-blooded, plus I often have sore muscles from walking. . .Anyhow, the difference between the heated mattress pad and a heated blanket is that the pads heat rises, while the blanket's heat has to sink. We all know heat RISES, so the heated pad is much more effective and does a wonderful job soothing DH's aching back and my muscles, plus it is DIVINE to slip into an already heated bed on a cold winter (or Autumn) night.

A five star recommendation from me!

BTW, I got mine on clearance at Wal-Mart for $50.00!

I have a question for all you lovers of mattress pads. Do you leave the electricity on all night or is there a timer or what?

I've used two different ones and never felt the wires. Maybe you could look at a few and get one that is thicker or has thinner wires. I crank it up when I go up to the bedroom to get ready for bed and then I turn it down to the lowest setting when I go to bed. I've never seen one with a timer.

We have a 24 yr old with a non-functioning thyroid. I bought her a pad for Christmas a couple of years ago. She LOVES it. She is always cold and this keeps her comfortable at night. She loved it so much that I bought one for my 81 yr old mother last Christmas and she loves it also. The wires don't seem to bother either of them. They both have timers that cut off after 10 hours. I bought a king size for my Mom at Belk's on sale for about $45. The other one I purchased at Kohl's on sale.

I was wondering about the use of a heating pad for the mattress when you have a memory foam mattress. Anyone use one w/ a memory foam mattress?

Mine turns itself off after 10 hours and I am madly in love with it. Got it at Costco for about $80, I think. It's washable and we don't feel any wires.
