Mike, maybe you can thank me after all, it's 'Gelbbunt' instead of 'Gelbunt'. It means "Gold Variegated' in the German language.

Birchwood Parky's Gold is probably my best vote for one that fits this bill (small, consistently gold, inexpensive, good grower). I started out with one eye about 5 years ago & now have 6 mature clumps and have given some away & traded with it as well. It retains its color & sits in a nice little clump about a foot across. I might even be able to send you a few eyes if you'd like.

I read in the rules where it said they had software to detect illegal voting and I noticed that the entry that was in first place with way over 400 votes has now dropped back to 94 votes (it was blech in my opinion anyway!).
