Brendan, much as I admire your posts and viewpoints here, I think this time Oaklief needs an apology. Read her note again and the story about the 5 years - she said that 5 yrs after the (hospital?) had been told of her husband's allergy to dye he was given more of it, and then succumbed, not that he succumbed as a result of the original dosage 5 yrs earlier! In defense of the medical community in general however, I just want to remind people that while everyone involved with patients tries hard to do the right thing all of the time, humans being human (and tired) can and probably always will make mistakes. Doctors don't do it on purpose because they don't care, and/or are only waiting for their paycheck, it happens because maybe too many people are involved at any one time in a patient's care, all trying to 'cover' some aspect of care, and the chain of information may break at any one place on a given day. Sometimes the patient themselves, or the family needs to speak up and remind overtired techs about something like a life-threatening allergy. Of course in an ideal world the techs should have caught the 'caution' in the old chart. Maybe the charting procedures needed to be overhauled (big red stickers on the front of the charts apparently not being applied properly, or the chart just wasn't looked at by the stress lab people, who knows, but until humans become robots, such things, horrible as they are, will always happen and Oaklief's husband was just terribly unlucky that day. But it's not a reason to blame the entire well intentioned medical community of a country, much as doing so by the family is more than understandable. Do you think such things don't happen in other countries? That's pretty ridiculous! Anyhow, Brendan, do take a second look at OL's note, and Oaklief, I am very sorry about your husband, but bitterness against the entire medical establishment isn't going to do much now but continue to feed your unhappiness, so if you can manage to forgive, if not forget (that won't and shouldn't happen, of course) it just might help you to get on with life.

Stucco can darken slightly during the first year. However this darkening is so subtle that you would probably never notice it unless you had an original sample of the color and placed it next to it. Unlike paint, stucco contains natural minerals that go all the way through the product making it less prone initially from fading from the sun. If you are really unhappy with the color, you can have a product sprayed over the existing stucco that is not a paint but a cement coating that will become part of the original stucco. LaHabra Stucco calls theirs Fog Coat. I don't know how expensive an endeavor this will be, but it is an option. As a piece of advice for anyone considering stucco or EIFS on their home, make sure you see the color you choose either on a very large sample that you view outside in the sunlight or have the applicator give you the address of a home with the same color. The color representations on those small chips are notoriously inaccurate -- in fact they all give some type of disclaimer about the consistency of color charts. Also be warned that very dark colors will eventually begin to lighten after exposure to the sun. Although not usually used on residential homes, colors such as red, black, dark blue, etc. will fade out completely. I've seen red trim on commercial buildings that turn to pink in less than 10 years.

They should open. Same thing happens with Word. I have 07 on one machine and 03 on the other. Download the compatibility pack and it will convert the 07 files to 03. I save all my 07 documents as 03 and they open on 07. Sometimes I forget to save the 07 docs as 03 and the computer changes it when I open on the other machine.

I look forward to Thursday night and LOST all week. But I think they better give me some answers soon because I am getting really frustrated. The episode where Desmond jumps between 2 time periods was really stretching it. And that wasn't even a flash forward or backward. My son announced after that show aired that he was afraid LOST had "jumped the shark" If you're unfamiliar with that phrase, here's how Wikipedia describes it......"The term jumping the shark alludes to a specific scene in a 1977 episode of the TV series Happy Days when the popular character Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli literally jumps over a shark while water skiing. The scene was so preposterous that many believed it to be an ill-conceived attempt at reviving the declining ratings of the flagging show. Since then, the phrase has become a colloquialism used by U.S. TV critics and fans to denote the point at which the characters or plot of a TV series veer into a ridiculous, out-of-the-ordinary storyline. Such a show is typically deemed to have passed its peak. Once a show has "jumped the shark" fans sense a noticeable decline in quality or feel the show has undergone too many changes to retain its original charm" I don't think Lost has gone that far, but I am a little worried. We tape LOST while we watch it because my son works Thursday nights. So I watch it again on Friday when he's home and it helps me follow along.
