Analysis paralysis on door color

We had to replace our old door. Many problems over the years with moisture and paint. We get a tremendous amount of direct sun so we were told not to get a fiberglass door & to go with a light color but I hate the results. I just need some suggestions on color. Shown below is our old blue door, the new door with a light blue (did I say I hate it) and while hubby says it likes it, he also says I can get it repainted. I tried a crude attempt at red. What other color? The auto dealer will come out and paint it once I decide on a color. The concrete will have an overlay once we get the door decided and done.

I have a door very much like yours. I recently repainted it a very, very, very dark teal green. (The darkest shade possible) It looks fabulous!

If you want a light color, how about a light gray?

btw, I think you did the photoshopping on your door very well.

IMO the fewer grooves and fancy trim in a kitchen the better so I would do a very simple shaker door. You will have to deal with some majot lighting issues for sure , a new counter depth fridge would be good since you can’t build that wall far enough out to enclose the fridge you have and still keep the seating.Are you keeping the desk?I would get rid of the desk and run some pullout pantries along that wall for tons of storage and so much more useful than the desk. The pantries with the CD fridge could almost make the fridge look built in. You need to take those light boxes out get all pot lights in LEDs in4000K installed and then choose the color for the new cabinet doors . Under cabinet lighting would be nice too. If you were getting new cabinets everywhere I would not do any uppers on the window wall. If you are going to go the route of new pantry cabinets then waht ever color you get for them is the color you want for the doors so good ide to get both from the same place.

To echo a comment above, we have a window that doesn't close right without pushing from the outside. It is partly a brick problem and partly a window problem (at least that is what they told me). They are going to adjust the window but it may require brick adjustment (which is not a minor thing). If there was an install problem with an outside installer, it would just mean that it was on you to get them back to fix it. It doesn't mean that they won't fix it - just that your GC won't help you. Honestly, it seems kind of a weird argument because the real issues would be scheduling and supply issues. And he doesn't mention that. Personally not used to a window allowance and I think that is a bit unusual. Maybe that isn't what you were saying but to me, if you have a fixed price contract, the windows should have been chosen already since it is one of the largest line-items that people can't go shop themselves easily at all.

Thank you @littlebug zone 5 Missouri! I do plan to replace the railings on the stoop. I was thinking simple square wooden posts & rails painted white, like this But now I also like the black metal ones suggested by @emmarene9 and am seeing a few examples on pinterest I like with a similar look. More decisions! The plan for the walkway is dark grey patio stones, 18x24". 6' wide at the base of the stairs for a landing and 4' the rest of the way to the sidewalk. I have a path to the rear door (the one I and friends/family use) from the driveway already, so this front one is just for folks coming off the street. The concrete steps are in good condition and have just been re-levelled. Gave them a pressure-wash a few weeks ago and will do another in the spring but no other surface work is planned for them. I've read so many comments here about planting beds being too narrow, so I wanted to ensure at least 6' of depth for mine! I've gotten a few comments irl saying they look freakishly BIG but I know it'll all come together once they're filled in with plants. This is a rough layout from placing new sod; I will be tweaking the shape slightly in spring to get more rounded corners. :)

In my house I would get more function out of a butcher block for prep, a set of lower cabinets between the laundry and the slider that would act as storage and buffet, and the table perpendicular to the window, and more on the left side of the room, so leaving enough room at the corner near the refrigerator. That would give more room for seating and circulation but less room if for people standing around snacking in the kitchen.

Thanks so much squirrelheaven, that really helps to visualize. Does my walk-in garage door need to be the same color? ---it's off to the left & currently painted teal blue like my original door. Does that affect your opinion or should I repaint it at the same time?

I meant to note how limited this view was of the house, overall, with these door colors : )

I think I'd downplay the garage door by painting it the trim color. Doing something else to blend with the brick would be adding a third paint, so probably not a good idea.

Maybe you can post a wider pic of the house? Do you like having the gd teal also?

Here's a wider pic of the house from a distance.
I liked the teal color of the original door. When we were told to go lighter that's when we tried the light blue, but it just doesn't hack it.

Those garage doors sure look brown from here and different than the teal front door. I'd do the front door in an accent color and go neutral/trim color on the garage.

The garage doors are brown; it's the garage walk-in door (hidden behind the tree) that's teal like our old front door. All the trim on the house is the bronze/brown. Appreciate your comments.

I think I'd do the main entrance in the accent and downplay the side door : )

Is there a reason you can't go back to the dark teal? I do not like that light blue, and I'm afraid all the other colors look too blah. I do like the eggplant suggestion, but think it might be too dark. Go back to the teal, since you liked it before.

I like the greens, with a large burgundy accent. Also like the burgundy, but so many do that.
