Funny, I'm trying to picture the opposite! I currently have Behr's Toffee Bar in my family room with a large black armoire with the tv, ponderosa colored leather sofas and a game table that has a dark stain with black legs and chair legs. Since I am currently painting all of my oak trim white, I was wondering what the room would look like painted light tan or even cream. In the past for me it's been easier to go dark than to go light! I'm strange like that, though. What color are your floors?

I love *browns* and with white trim, I find that combo very appealing. Here's a pic of a bedroom that uses browns and taupes from floor to ceiling.

Thermsen - I have a new large sectional that is dark tan with midnight/navy blue stripe pattern -- I have cream colored walls and white trim and it looks awful -- this sectional's main color, the dark tan, is a nice warm color so I am thinking I should look at painting the walls either darker than this tan or lighter

oops - p.s. the floor is a light colored berber (yuck) - I'm thinking of putting a large seagrass carpet under the sectional - I'm having a really tough time trying to come up with a color scheme

Sundowner, I want to know the paint color too!!! I just installed creamy white cabinets in my kitchen and have very little wall space but want to paint it chocolate brown. I look at the BM color wheel and have no idea which one to select.

Thanks! The color is "Grounded" SW6089. I still love it and have since painted the adjoining kitchen the same color.

Irishcreamgirl, the DR and kitchen have a lot of natural light and it doesn't feel dark.
