It really can be beautiful but risky as well. I once had a white silk blouse, real white white, that I wore with a cream suit and a black velvet tie at the neck pinned by a cameo of brown and ivory that was one of my best looks but I feared it when I first put it on but each time I wore it, I got so many compliments. On the other hand, I put on a white jacket with a scarf of off white once and the scarf looked dirty. It's difficult indeed.

I feel your pain. We've been considering replacing our sheet vinyl as well, and we have stained everything. Ours is all maple instead of oak, and its stained in a honey tone that simply comes off as orange. Our entry hardwoods are stained to match it as well, and bringing all that orange into such a large area as the kitchen/dining/hall, etc..would literally hurt the eyes. We were trying to find a prefinished solid wood product that we could get to "compliment" and we still had a hard time making anything work. We just settled on going with a luxury vinyl tile that will work with the exisiting stain, and if we decide to paint later, it will still look fine. IMO, you will have a VERY hard time finding a real wood baseboard that will look right with a vinyl wood look floor. They will fight each other, and the real one will just end up making the vinyl look..well fake. If you really want to make it come off as realistic as possible, I'd go with painted baseboards. My two cents; your mileage may vary...

I love the colors you selected. I would paint the cabinet purple and leave the baseboards white. Then I would find a way to relate the purple and teal. If this were my space, I would paint a purple stencil on top of the teal on all four walls. It is refreshing to see your space. So many bathrooms are just a sea of white.

Regardless of whether the cabinet company's whites match the BM colors, are either of them whites that will work for you? Choose the cabinet company based on their products and reputation. The one I have been buying from the past 15 years for two different houses has two whites. They are not a BM or SW color, but the warmer white is the one I use. Were you hoping to have white cabinets and white walls and wanted them to be identical? Even if they were technically the same color, colors look different when they are different sheens. Last year my husband painted our MB closet BM Simply White in flat. The trim is Simply White in satin or semigloss (can't remember which). They don't look identical. I thought he had made a mistake. :-)
