I need new LR chairs. Please help
Comments (42)may flowers - I'm still not 100% sure which corner you mean. To the right of the sofa, to the left of the sofa or to the right of the window or something else??? powermuffin - The walls are SW Blonde, which I chose because the room faces north and I wanted to 'warm it up'. The previous color was a much lighter beige, off-white or cream. There are times I would like to go back to something in that family, not so 'gold'. I also picked the color to go with the gold in the plaid. I'd like to repaint, but it's a big job (LR, DR and hallway) and I'm not sure DH will be on board. deb - I'll be there again next week, but I'm sure you need to get to Costco sooner than then. I love the idea of a shared ottoman! The plaid chairs work there, but I still would like new chairs. I have thought about recovering them, but I'd like something a little larger scale. I think I'll take my chances on a bergere chair at the shop that is on it's last month. If it's still there, it will be marked down even further. If you have the chance to stop by next week and it's still there, I'll show it to you and see what you think. Today at the consignment shop, I looked at a cute triangle shaped table that might work between the newly arranged plaid chairs. I'm going to mock up the shape with paper tonight and see if I think it will work. I don't know why I didn't take a picture of it while I was there. :(...See MoreNeed advice: same karastan lr rug and hw runner and more q.
Comments (6)An update: brought my daughter with me to buy the 717 area rug (she has a truck) and she noticed something right off the bat about the rug that really bothered her regarding the quality. I was so smitten with the design and colors, that I wasn't paying attention, and didn't understand what she was saying, until the owner brought over an old small sample she was going to give me, as her store was selling off everything not handmade. Fingering the old sample, and comparing the new area finally made me realize what my daughter saw right away: there was a significant difference in quality/density, and the new rug had a cheap look that the old sample did not have. The old sample is how I remembered the rug from years ago. Needless to say, I did not buy it, and will have to rethink my plans. I have a very old american oriental rug that I thought was too dark and too large for the room I will likely use anyway (will start another thread later to ask about cleaning and repairing it) The good thing is that I could get the Karastan 717 runner for my hallway as it will probably go well - and the quality will be fine for that. Comments (6)Jute rugs IMO belong outside at the door entry and no where else. They shed crap on the floor constantly. I find seagrass a nice option not the nicest on bare feet but not bad....See MoreRelated Professionals
