Very frustrated with finding a lamp for the LR - help?
Comments (36)The purpose of the lamp on the table in the window would be a combination of ambient and task (reading). I volunteer at a nice consignment shop and am always on the lookout for nice lamps there. I think you are on to something, may_flowers, regarding the lamp shade. This afternoon, just for the heck of it, I put a lamp from the family room on the table and it looks so much better with a wide, drum shade instead of the flared lamp shade. This lamp(borrowed from the FR) is a little more than 27" tall. So, I guess I've been way off with my height restriction, too! So, all along I thought I was looking for a shorter, darker color lamp and now I'm thinking taller and lighter color. Yikes!...See MoreNeed a LR Rug...Please?
Comments (14)Thank you daisychain and rita! Finallyhome, it's almost a year old. I cannot use the vacuum on anything other than minimum suction and cannot use power roll or the dust canister fills up with a couple of strokes. So, I'm vacuuming a couple times a week because I get rug dust balls all over the surrounding wood floors, behind and under furniture. I found enough fluff under the sofa to make two cats this week!...See MoreLR/DR -fireplace, rug, and other help
Comments (5)I think I would forget a mantel- it’ll intrude into the space unnecessarily. I would add a natural jute or sea grass rug in the seating area, and add white linen drapes to all the windows. Find a painting or photo for over the fireplace, and enjoy!...See MorePlease help me find a rug! 7 fails in a row- I need help!
Comments (2)Do you have any of the original carpet left over. When we got new carpeting there was some left over and we had the carpet company bind it and put it in the foyer....See Moretibbrix
