Am I wrong?

My husband and I got in an arguement today over the space in our house. My step daughter has the largest bedroom of the three children. She has only been at our house three or four times in the past year. She states the reason is because she does not like me, but I feel she has other reasons. For example, her mom lets her party, skip school, and have her boyfriend spend the night. All of those things are unacceptable at our home.

Anyways, my youngest child, who is now 3 1/2, has an extrememly small room that will not fit a twin bed. The room was a sewing room. He is getting to the point where he is too big to fit in the crib bed.

Today I suggested to my husband that we take out a loan and add another room to our house. He threw a fit about taking out a loan since we are strapped at the momment for cash. I then suggested that we not take the vacation we were planning for the summer and build on instead. He had a fit again. We have not had a vacation in about two years. He is right we do need a vacation, but I feel we should put this immediate need ahead of the vacation.

This is where it gets ugly. He had me upset. I told him that it was unfair that the other two children (the youngest one is his also) should have to live in extremely small rooms while the large room has sat vacant for almost a year. His daughter will be 18 this February. I said she should move her stuff out so we could have a room for the little one. My husband did not go for this. He basically said that would not be an option. He has been really mad all day. I think he thinks I'm just trying to kick her out. I must admit I don't like her here. She has caused so much stress and heartache in our lives.

She is living, by choice, with her druggy mom. Neither of them have jobs. I know her mom does a lot of stealing. My step daughter seems to be going no where very fast. I think my husband is worried that my step daughter may need to come back and live with us at some point and doesn't want to give up her room. I know he is also afraid of hurting her feelings. I understand all of that, but where do you draw the line?
