I spoke with the poster and she said the DR was hardly used. It's currently in her pet and child free townhouse and since she's moving in w/ her BF, she needs to get rid of it because he already has an antique set. She said she keeps it covered since it doesn't get used. She also emailed me back saying this: My dad purchased it for me in 2001. He purchased at Drexel Heritage in Vernon Hills, Illinois. Also, my dad was a contractor and had the chairs reinforced with wood glue as well as the regular screws/pins/nails. This is not a common practice in Chicago but it extends the life of the chairs. I'm not sure of the manufacturer. The table and chairs are solid cherry wood. I have an appt. to see it tomorrow and I'll check to see if the Mfr is anywhere on the underside of the table or chairs.

spring-meadow - yeah, it's weird. The scale in that picture is way off. That's a 9x11 rug and the curtains are 108", but it looks more like a 5x7 with regular 84"ers. I don't know why it photographed tiny. How come my hips never photograph tiny?!? May I ask where you got the corner TV stand? I'm so glad you posted the pic it helps me visualize better. vcheethi - We got the stand at a store called Nebraska Furniture Mart. They also sell online: NFM.com. It's a cheapy -- that TV was in a home theater room in our last house, and was surrounded by a large entertainment center. I wanted something that would "disppear" and keep the wall from showing between the side piers. The stand is actually open with glass shelves, like this... ...I made a black "curtain" the same height as the stand opening and mounted it on a tension rod flush against the opening. The curtain hides the ugly inside, but doesn't block the remote controls. The neat thing about the stand is that it has a recess on the top, with a lip. The TV goes down into the recess, then slides in under the lip, so it essentially "locks" the TV to the stand. Very very secure!

I learned these are Broyhill chairs. Upon visiting their website, they still sell them, but with a back cushion. It appears the back cushion on the CL chairs was replaced with a pillow which is why they look "odd". Hummmm. This explains why the seat looks so deep. Makes me wonder, for the price, if it's worth getting them and finding a cushion or better fitting larger pillow for the back. Thought on that and Broyhill furniture? I'm not sure if any of these appeal to you but we bought our table here about 7 years ago. I love it. Ours is 6' with painted black base. It has held up extremely well to my family of six, with four kids eating all their meals here, as well as using it for homework, arts and crafts, etc. We have six chairs but only use four, with two one one side, one on either end, and a bench on the other side. However, when necessary, we can easily add a third chair to the one side and seat three on the opposite bench. Eventually I will replace the bench and only have chairs. Not sure how far you are from Annapolis, but it would make a lovely day trip. The shop is right on the main street into town, with loads of other shops and restaurants in walking distance so if you have time, it would be a nice outing for the day.
