Guide lines for a stepchild

I could never begin to go into details about all the in and outs of my family. Here is a little background for you though. My parents were divorced when I was 11. Right afterward my father started dating. He dated her for six years and then married her. We were the typical blended family troubles. When I turned twenty three my father and I had very little to do with each other. That is until....Two years ago my brother killed himself. His suicide note blamed my stepmother, stepbrother and our father for it all. Now I am not going to say that I will take a suicide note as truth carved in stone but I will say that a lot of what my brother wrote were the same things that I had been telling my dad for years and part of the reason why we were not getting along.

A lot has happened in the last two years. I married and had a beautiful baby boy. I have moved away, have a home of my own and have built a very good relationship with my father. A bit shaky still but at least its there. I even get along with my step mom. The problem stems from my stepbrother and his family.

My stepbrother is two years younger then me. A year and a half ago he got a girl prego. They did not get married but decided to move in together. Nine months ago he got her prego again. Still they will not get married, partly as she tell my family because she wants Medicaid to pay for the birth (medicaid paid for both births). She says she can't pay for birth control but yet she has $400 sun glasses. The list goes on and on.

Anyway she was asking questions about some comment I made that was not about her but she thought it was. We got into a huge email war. One point she told me that when she sees me next time she is going to put me in the hospital. I know that it is childish to get into an email war. I am twenty seven and that is the behavior of a high schooler. She just knew the buttons to push.

Anyway where do I go from here....There are not a lot of resources out there for this. Whats the right, adult way to handle this?
