Which Lighting style do you like best?

I'm renovating one of my bathrooms and chose a mirror that Les recommended (thanks, Les), and now I'm deciding on lighting. Small bathroom 8 x 7.5.

I like this and I feel it works:

But.... I love bling, (but don't want to be too out there).

So which ceiling light do you like? I will have to get lighting for mirror area too, but vanity is up against one wall and don't think I can do just a sconce on one side, so will likely have to get something over mirror. Before I do, I wanted to decide on the ceiling light to firm up my theme/style.

floor tile:

Wall tile ( only on walls above tub.: It's the larger slab, Yarkarta Blanco:

Vanity:

Faucet: Polished nickel

Paint color will be either BM Pashmina ...(It's on the wall in picture)

...or BM Etiquette

How tall is the ceiling? If its 8'6" or higher, go for the bling. It will make pretty patterns on the ceiling. If lower, go for the simpler light with the clean lines. And feel good that you will have one less surface to dust towel lint off of :)

I've stopped trying to figure this out until the lighting industry makes it easier. I've got better things to do <lol> Meanwhile, I'm using my stash of incandescents. I like a warmer tone...however, I haven't yet replaced the kitchen recessed lighting with LEDs. I'll probably want a less warm bulb. And I don't like the way the dimmable LEDs dim. They don't go as low as incandescents and the color doesn't shift to warm reddish color as they dim.

Sheeisback, I like the Fallen Leaf as well, but it's a pain because it's a CSP color, which means it's patented and protected by BM, so you can't buy samples in the stores, and you have to buy it in Aura paint. You can get a sample directly from BM, for $10 plus shipping, then the $60 for the gallon of Aura...not worth it to me. Emmarene, the kitchen also has the hand hewn pine beams on the ceiling and the shiplap chalet ceiling, painting in BM White Dove. Have to go back and really go over cabinet options and colors. Thinking about a green or an ivory now since I'm concerned the plain maple will clash with the pine beams. I don't want any cabs with orange in them, and I don't want dark cabs.

megs1030, I think you are probably right about the wood finishes competing. I liked the cushion color a lot which is why I'd narrowed it down to that one, but I wasn't super thrilled about the base color. I hear you all on adding color. I think one of the reasons I'm hesitant here is because the configuration of the kitchen is such that there will be a fairly narrow area to pass through between the island and a wall that juts out behind it. Currently this is where the fridge sits and there is literally only 21" right now between the right corner of the island and it, but that should hopefully not be for much longer. Once the fridge is moved there will be 54", but I hope to put in some lockers along that wall to capture the jackets and boots that everyone wears out back, so it could potentially shrink to as narrow as a 36" walkway (that's still tbd though). So I don't want there to feel like there is a lot there, I think I want the stools to seem to disappear when not in use. It could be when the fridge is out of here I won't feel that way, it really closes the area in right now. I'd probably have to see the low back chairs in person to get a feel for if they'd tuck away enough. I doubt there is anywhere in town that would have any. Maybe I should stick with a couple of really inexpensive stools until we're further along.

Which vinyl floor color do you like best?

Flooring does not exsist on its own. What are the colors and textures of your walls, ceilings, furniture, and accessories? For example, if you have very busy ceiling, furniture, and walls, you probably would want plain flooring. Conversly, if you have very plain ceiling, and furniture, and walls, you could probably do well with busy flooring. Please post pictures of the room.

So pleased that you like the mirror. I think it will be a nice addition to the great choices you have made.

I like the first light fixture, but I am wondering if the shade is fabric, and may be an issue in a steamy, moist bathroom?

Sorry, the second one reminds me of a craft project done with clear marbles. Not opposed to some bling, tho. What about this one, if it works with your budget?

How devoted of a housekeeper are you?

Although I like the crystal look, I can't imagine the upkeep.

Is this something that you would lovingly do to enjoy the look, or a chore?

I ask, because I am thinking of replacing my dining room chandy, and even though I love the crystal look, I shudder to remember how much work it is to clean one that I had at my former house. And I was young then. I can't imagine doing this in my 50-60-70s and having the chore on a ladder for 2 hours twice a year to clean it.

Question: What light would you put over mirror? Or would you just put one sconce to right of mirror. One side of vanity is up against the wall, and although I have space for a sconce on each side, it might seem crowded up against the wall.
