racket is correct, use your amp load as your factor. If your only going to want 60@240 you can get by with 2 6 awg black, 1 8 awg white, 1 8 awg green. I'd encourage you to step up to more available ampacity from the power center for possible future expansion, especially if the equipment pad is behind a garage BUT after reading what you posted from Pentair's load center you may be at the maximum. I haven't used Pentair equipment since back in the PacFab days, they didn't offer digital controllers or power centers then so I'm not intimate with them. I'm really shocked that their load center is only 125@120. I'd of felt that they'd be 100@240. You don't need to run from your existing breaker box to an exterior disconnect unless your running romex through the attic and converting to THHN at the disconnect, then running this building wire in some A&U to the pools power center. If this is your plan you'd be more well served placing a small subpanel with 4 spaces instead of a disconnect. I'm curious, why would you feel more inclined to go through the attic with your line voltage? My preference is always single conductor building wires in A&U. By "feeder" do you mean the load side coming from the meter to the load center/disconnect or the load side of the load center/disconnect going to the mobile home? There is a 200A breaker in the load center to act as a disconnect and of course another 200A main breaker inside the MH's breaker box. And yes, I assumed another ground would be needed there, but the men who move the MH are connecting that end. I've been out pricing 4/0-4/0-2/0-#2 AL at Lowe's for about $3.70/ft. Another question, if I may. There is no distinction between either of the "hot" legs traveling from the meter through the disconnect to the main breaker in the home or are they kept left and right, so to speak, all the way throughout? Keeping them identified from the meter to the disconnect is obviously not a problem but from the disconnect to the home at least 100' away would require identifying them before being buried.

Thanks, Ron. That panel is pretty versatile. You might not have had a good look at it. Check the Siemens web site if you are interested. You choose between manual or auto transfer, main lug or main breaker, flush or surface mount and indoor or outdoor. I'd be interested in your thoughts of its operation and idiosyncrasies of set-up from the diagram if you are not familiar. I'd love to know if anyone else makes a similar ATS, split bus panel. One thing that might be of concern is the proprietary ATS. I think I'd be tempted to buy a spare right out of the gate to be sure a replacement is there for the life of the panel. The other is the range of generators that it might be used with. I don't know if the list of generators precludes use of other. David: Thanks for your reply. The reasons for 125A (I bought a 100A due to price / ready availability) breaker are: a) this 100A breaker will remain after the service is upgraded to 200A, b) the 100A breaker accepts the #1 THHN conductors. Until the service is upgraded, the 200A is just a feed-through. Have I not planed for the service upgrade, I'd run the feeders directly to the subpanel of lower ampacity (just with enough spaces). As far as the electrician laughing - what can I say - I am an amature. For as long as this electrician is helpful - I'll be very greatful regardless of his self-esteem issues. Thanks, al
