I really did just stop there to drop off things..thrift store

Look what I found for $6!! When I took the latest things from my basement clean-up to donate, I just had to stop in and look. They were having a $3 bag sale! I had passed some of the china up before because it was heavy and I knew it would be hard to break. Went back to my beginnings and used the old hammer. I also tried to save more edges, 1/2 cups and some plain white when it was textured or rippled. I was trying to find brighter colors, but still the things that are there are mostly SC. There are three containers of the brighter ones on the bottom left - I think I see a kitchen backsplash in the future.....

Oh I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the dishes in the left corner!
So envious...never find dishes here. Great haul for sure.

Happy to say my Bhuts are doing nicely and all three plants are putting out nice pods right now. Some pods are pushing two inches already. I have several pods on all my plants. One plant in particular is putting out some great pods both in size and quantities but I am still experiencing a lot of blossom drop. I guess it doesn't matter a whole lot since I am getting a lot to pollinate too. If nearly all of them were fertilized and put out pods, I would have over a hundred per plant by now. Still it bothers me that so many are dropping unfertilized. My other peppers are getting much better fertilization rates but they are in individual containers. The weather has gone from sunny with mid and upper 90's a couple weeks ago to wet and 60's the last couple weeks. So, I would guess that the weather has something to do with it and my Bhuts get more shade than the container peppers. We have sun and mid to upper 70's on schedule starting late this week going into next week. I hope that changes things. I am planning on bagging a couple branches on my Ghost pepper plants to ensure purity in seeds that I can use for trade and for myself next spring. If anyone knows how to decrease the blossom drop, let me know.

Hi guys! No, I didn't finally jump over the ledge :) I just took a small hiatus. I boarded "charliedawg" in a kennel, packed the suitcases, got the family in the car and got the heck out of here. WHEW! If I ever build a house again (which I highly doubt I will) I will definitely put mental health vacation $$$$ in my budget. LOL Tragusa, I'm not glad that you had all of the problems but I'm glad to know that it worked out for you so I know it will all be ok fo me too. GC will be back tomorrow. She has ALWAYS made things perfect so I'm not sure why I doubted it now. I think I just felt out of control because she is gone. I'm not the type that needs to be in control of such a big project, I guess ya'll figured that out by now.

bnice - it seems like some parents have more faith in their children's judgement than others but sometimes... and i don't mean all the time... they may be misguided. And putting the child's welfare aside, it's just plain rude in my book leaving a kid on someone else's doorstep IMO. ((see paragraph below)) dances - yes, they went to another kids house.. without calling. But, it's across the street and I can open my front door and call for her. Is there a difference here? It is from my perspective but these are my views. I wonder if another parent may think it rude though. Food for thought. I'm 49, and also would be upset at being abandoned, which is what it is. And you're right.. no payphone around here. He didn't have a cellphone so he would have had to use someone elses phone to call. coolmama - My DD catches the bus down on the corner, by herself. I don't like that so I don't leave for work until the bus has come, which puts me running late a few minutes. Luckily I have a boss that understands. And, I really don't care if people think I'm paranoid, either. Just want to make sure that my DD is fairly treated and I'm not holding on too tightly.

Where are you located and how cold was it when the window was open? when you water, are you watering in sips or until 10-15% comes out of the drain hole? Water when the first couple inches of soil dry out. Looks like cold damage. These plants don't like temps below 60°. also, maybe prop it up more. It looks to be below the window and not in front of it. They like pretty bright light, so even a southern facing window would be better. By the way, did you get yours at lowes or someplace similar? I also picked up one about 2 months back and it looks to be the same size as yours. Mine hasn't lost any leaves though.

We truly want to G I VE>>... and yet... we are still helping .. by donating our money... to buy the plates. and cups.....
I keep telling DH..... I am only a HELPER!!!!!
I can't believe how re=cycling those things and making something else is.... jut SOOOOOO rewarding... and FUN !!

Those are some pretty plates.....very envious of those floral centers!!

Love the plates they are so colorful.You did a good job with the hammer!!!! I have seen the ones in the left corner at 2nd hand stores in my area.

Your backsplash will look great with all those colors!!!

You got a great haul, I never seem to find stuff that resonable!!!

OH Good job. I bought the same pieces you have in the lower left corner. I bought a whole set of the dishes but left the soup bowls for a lady in the store pining over them. I am especially fond of the purple in the set. The blue and white on the upper right corner look like flow blue. Beautiful!!

You should never go into a thrift store just to LOOK, especially don't look in the dish section!! All that china is awesome! and you've got it all nipped up!! Mine is just sitting around in stacks, taking up space!
